How bad is traffic in Chicago at 2 A.M.?

That’s just a random number. There is crime in Tifton, but nothing like Chicago. Also, if I’m the intended victim of a robbery, etc. and I shoot in self-defense, I wouldn’t face the same consequences in Tifton that I would in Chicago (not trying to hijack my own thread with this statement). :)

How bad is traffic in Chicago at 2 A.M.?

I always do. I go I-39 and just pay the toll. But I thought it’d be neat to drive through and see the skyline.

How bad is traffic in Chicago at 2 A.M.?

I’ve ridden through several metro areas such as Atlanta, Jacksonville Fl, Orlando, and Cincinnati, and I have to say that between midnight and 5 A.M., the traffic actually isn’t bad at all. I was basically able to shoot right through with no congestion. This was passing through on the...

Best twin for building multi/complex time besides the Seminole

Not anti-Seminole at all. I don’t know much about it, but I’ve heard that its primary function is to be a trainer.

Best twin for building multi/complex time besides the Seminole

Hmm, seems odd considering it only has 4 seats, albeit 4 roomy seats (looking at the photos, the backseats look more spacious than the pilot seats). The C55 Barron is also a 4-seater, though admittedly I haven’t researched the powerplant/fuel burn.

Best twin for building multi/complex time besides the Seminole

From what I understand, pretty much the only reason for the Piper Seminole’s existence is for multi-engine training and perhaps time-building. What are some other aircraft that may qualify as multi complex time-builders...

    Low Time Jobs Alaska

What is the starting pay of First Officer? 250 hrs of multi-land and 1000 hrs TT (in addition to IFR & 1st class medical) seems fairly reasonable. Finding a Seminole club could make this achievable.

Sonex is also coming out with a high-wing aircraft.

Bede BD-4: I am the ugliest aircraft in existence. Sonex: Hold my beer! High-wing Sonex: You two are just adorable.

Sonex is also coming out with a high-wing aircraft.

https://www.sonexaircraft.com/highwing-update-020823/#production Makes you wonder if they’re trying to copy Vans. Of course, unlike Vans, they’ve released more info on it. It’ll also apparently be available as an already-built LSA version in addition to a kit (wonder what the price will look...

Looking for a time builder airplane (grab some popcorn and enjoy the show).

As many others have stated, a Cherokee 140 is likely your best option. A bit of an underperformer as a 4-seater, but makes a great 2-seater. Unlike most 2-seater trainers, 2 adults and full fuel would still not likely exceed the gross weight (unless it were 2 exetremely heavy-set adults at a...

    Another ‘Cherokee 180 vs. 235’ thread…

I’d read people claiming those air speeds, albeit at high altitudes (9k feet) and lightly loaded.

    Another ‘Cherokee 180 vs. 235’ thread…

If I may hijack my own thread (so I don’t have to post another one) what are the performance differences between the fixed-pitch Cherokee 235 and the c/s one? Naturally, it means longer takeoff roll and lower climb rates, but by how much? Is the f/p prop still much cheaper? I would assume...

    Another ‘Cherokee 180 vs. 235’ thread…

I was referring to the performance when I stated the the 180 & Archer weren’t that different p, but the 235 & Dakota were.

    Another ‘Cherokee 180 vs. 235’ thread…

Agreed, but the problem is they’re typically for sale at twice the price. But unlike the 180 & Archer differences, the Dakota has better climb, cruise speed, service ceiling. AND has more room in backseats, with the same engine. Amazing what tweaking the airframe will do.

Now that you mention it, I remember reading about some owners claims their o-540’s going over 2,500 hours between overhauls, due to it being a derated engine, although the o-360 is said to be pretty bulletproof as well.

Would spend most of the time flying solo, only occasionally carrying pax. :)

    Another ‘Cherokee 180 vs. 235’ thread…

Agreed. I haven’t flown either, and I realize there are multitudes of threads regarding the comparison of these two aircraft, but I created this one to verify the performance if flying solo. And while I can always read about the performance, the numbers seldom match those of the real world.

    FAA and lasers

It’s my understanding that there exists eye protection for law enforcement or military to protect against being lasered. It would be nice if there were some type of glasses or goggles an average pilot could purchase.

    Another ‘Cherokee 180 vs. 235’ thread…

I’m well aware of the payload differences between the 180 & 235. If one planned on carrying 3 or even 4 adults regularly, and especially on x/c flights over 8k feet, it’d be the 235 all the way. I believe the 235 was intended for 4 business adults to be able to get around. But if a pilot...
