Why wouldn't I be able to access websites I was....

No IT on weekends unless its IPad flight essential. I can get on the website just fine on Company Ipad and my phone - so it is just my home computer that is having the issue. Ipad and phone utilizing same internet as computer.

    Helicopter pilot shortage

No complaints, its been a lot of fun. Some interesting challenges like ILS to mins in Rochester in the middle of a snow storm at night - for a guy that was strictly VFR for all my helicopter time I'll remember that for a long time. I got helicopter home sick for a minute and was offered a...

    Helicopter pilot shortage

That's what happened to my helicopter career. 1600 PIC all but 20 some in piston pounders. I started at the airlines with 260 PIC airplane, mostly 150/152 time and the bare minimum 25 hours twin engine. A couple of months of training later I'm flying a 76 passenger 80,000 pound 14000+ thrust...

    Helicopter Down in East River

I doubt it and not from a sincerity point of view. I have no doubt the passengers were briefed to not touch anything on the dashboard, in between the pilot co/pilot (passenger) seat, etc, etc I've had people so excited to take a picture of Mount Rushmore they've literally hit me in the face...

    Helicopter Down in East River

I've literally given 1000s of helicopter briefings and just due to the excitement of a ride 80% of the population couldn't remember how to get off a standard aviation style safety belt. Add in the panic of a engine failure and ditching along with the fact this was a doors off photo flight with a...

    Helicopter Down in East River

Aye, decent autorotation. They were inflated As they all are In reference to other posts - a helicopter being top heavy as previously stated and the inertia of the blades cause the rolling moment as well as normal ditching procedures if for the pilot to roll it to the pilot side. Though, if...

    Helicopter Down in East River

This ship supposedly was converted to LH PIC so it is possible that the front passenger could have possible pulled the fuel shut off, just the really thin safety wire holding it in the "normal" position.

Flying Into Destin or Panama City FL?

For me it would have been a hindrance. "helichopper 7512N crossing mid field landing direct to hangar" ;)

Saying 2.5 instead of 2500, etc?

In the "jet jock" world I don't think its done "that way" to try and be cool. In my experience it is for one or more reasons - "2.5 climbing 6" you are climbing at 3k fpm and trying to very quickly get your next altitude clearance before you have to throttle way back to avoid busting 250 kts...
