You must not fly between Philly and Boston very often. I have been dropped many times. Usually it is NY Approach who won't take the hand-off. Then you are on your own. I usually get the apologetic 'You can try the next guy on xxx.xx, but for now squawk VFR.' The next guy wouldn't take a handoff...
