    Wiring question

Hello all, I currently own a 65 Piper Cherokee 140. As I do more research on how I will become ads-b compliant, I have been considering the sky beacon unit. With this I will be required to have my nav lights on all the time. My question is that my nav light switch doubles as the instrument...

    Replacing a spinner

Hello all, I bought a 65 Piper Cherokee 140 recently. During the pre buy, we noticed several cracks in the spinner cone that were stop drilled so we are replacing it with a new aluminum cone. Do I need to paint it? I like the look of polished aluminum and have considered just polishing it and...

    1965 Cherokee 140, IFR

Thank you for the info, I have found a couple gps 400's how do they stack up. I know they are just the gps but they are around $3000 for the waas vs the $5--8000 for the 430 and my com/nav radios are working.

    1965 Cherokee 140, IFR

Well I just bought the plane. So selling and buying a different one is not in the cards right now. As for the gps I have, it may be old but it is better than not having one at all. I know I can not use it for IFR approaches, it is still good for general enroute flying as long as I back it up to...

Hello all, I am the proud new owner of a 65 Cherokee 140. I am working on my private right now and plan on going all the way to commerical. In January I will be changing my transponder to meet the ads-b requirement. While it is in the shop I plan on making it IFR certified. My current avionics...

Hello again, so I finally got around to getting my medical done. I passed and now hold a class 3. Only issue that came up is my right eye is 20/30 so I will need to look into that issue at a later date to get my class 1/2. However, I am currently looking into the local schools. I have 5 schools...

Thank you all for the info. As for the part 61 vs 141, since the va will not help with my ppl does it matter which school I use?

Next question, One of my pilot friends suggested I get a class 2 physical over the class 3 since I plan on working towards my commercial license. Do you guys agree with this?

That makes sense. Im leaning towards the air one program, since they offer a discount for paying up front. Lots more research to do. I plan on getting my physical done by the end of Feb and start flying end of March. Again thank you for the information.

Thank you @RussR. You are correct in your assumption that I do not currently have a degree. I have been bouncing around what I wanted to major in. Before the military I had dreamed of a degree in aerospace engineering. Lately I have considered mechanical due to more potential fields of use. I...

The only program for enlisted members is the drone pilots, and I am in a critically manned career field and they won't let me apply.

Tinker does not have an aero club. I am active duty, tuition assistance will pay for regular classes but not the flying part if I go for the OU program. No option to fly for the military, the Air Force does not have any programs for that. From my research, I should have enough saved up to...
