Does anybody have a suggestion on an inexpensive VHF receiver for the hangar? Ideally one that also received AM, FM and VHF that I could plug into the wall. Would be nice to listen to airport trafic while I was working on the airplane. Thanks

Today I flew with the new Scout ADS B reciever. It was connected to 2 ipads and worked great. I think this is a terrific value.

Thanks guys, you confirmed what I was thinking. How valuable are the alerts? Do you you find yourself noticing the traffic on the display before you get the alert. I tend to want to keep my eyes outside.

Another nice aspect of the alert coming from the the audio panel is that everyone with headsets can help look for traffic, but maybe this is moot because with the traffic on the map you can easily find it.

Does this system (Transponder plus Stratus 2S) have these audio alerts via the audio panel or is this only coming from a connection on the iPad app to your headset? I know the GTX-345 has the audio interface to the panel. How much do you like the audio alerts? I would think this is a key...

Saw an interesting article on bird strikes vs drone impact testing. They say the drones cause more damage pound per pound because of the dense materials plus they cause fires due to the lithium battery.

You can clean the display connector to get all the display numbers to display correctly. Just did it on mine and it worked like a champ. google and you will find details. it is easy.
