    6Y9 Snowed In

Joe is right, trails open after gun season is done. Even with all this snow there is no base yet which means your sled is down on the ground and the snow is up to the upper part of your windshield. Really good sledding never starts to be really good till Jan.1st even up there.

    6Y9 Snowed In

My brother and the rest of the deer hunting gang are up this week. Big pain to get off the road a half mile back to our uncle's cabin. Can't imagine the deer will move much. Just bought a 72" snow blower for the back of the tractor up there, looks like we're going to need it this year.

18 days in paradise and a Masters Degree in Bahama Out Island Exploration w/ HD video

Re: 18 days in paradise and a Masters Degree in Bahama Out Island Exploration w/ HD v I've been to Mayaguana, stayed at the Baycaner, fished for bonefish. It is pretty much the wilderness of the Bahamas, but I liked it. We flew in on Bahamas Air out of Nassau. Going back out the local slogan...

Glasair III owner here - intoduction

There is 400ft displaced threshhold , so now he's down to 2,200 ,30ft trees on each end. Taking off with little wheels ,soft turf, warm day, high humidity, 30 ft. trees ,I'm thinking we would be picking fiberglass out of the trees at the departure end:hairraise:

Glasair III owner here - intoduction

Todd , I certainly don't know much about Glasairs other than they are awesome fast and good looking, but the gear and wheels are made for hard surface and I thought I heard the retract nose gear is a bit wimpy for turf and especially not so smooth turf. That seems to be the case on a lot of hot...

Now that's a nice looking Sonex, anxious to hear about the flight. What engine? Instruments/panel?

    1st project- Onex

It really is a great kit and the sheet metal/hole alignment is spot on. A good flat surface and some clecos and you're good to go. The time is in the deburring and finishing of the edges and some of the bending and fab work. Only aircraft I've built before were RC models, this is just a big...

Ease family concerns of flying small aircraft

Yep, also happen a lot more in cars, trucks and semi's. At least in most planes there another yoke in front of the co pilot seat( exception-some Beech products), and with a little training maybe the rest in the plane may survive. Planes? the word "many" might be excessive," some" ? yes If ya...

2014 6Y9 season may start late

Was hoping it would open sooner than later. Waiting for the mowing equipment to be flown in, then the State Inspector, then open it ,hopefully before the snow flies.
