Michael Now that be funny:yes: On the mouse problem We use all the above ,they all work to some degree. Also found in my boat if you open up closed spaces they tend not to use those areas ,they like dark quiet places. Poison bait blocks work best, traps next then down the line. My wife...

Sonex Down at OSH, Two Confirmed Fatalities

A couple years ago I met John ,Betty and Jeremy as I was at a workshop at the Sonex factory. Great people!!! You could sense in John he was so very proud that Jeremy had left Boeing as an engineer to return to the family business to run it. The Onex that I bought and am building was pretty much...

    6Y9 Now open 2015

A couple of airports have it here also. Not much in the building, just trying to keep the bikes from coming up missing. Most non pilots don't know what "squawk VFR" is. The ones who really want to get in will either kick the door in or throw a rock through the window. Suppose this day and age...

    6Y9 Now open 2015

Just got back from 6Y9. Met with the State Airport inspector. Passed inspection with some good comments, all is good. It was mowed May 22nd but will need it soon with the recent rain and warm weather. New door lock on the pilot shack, the old State supplied mechanical lock was a pain for...

    6Y9 Now open 2015

I was up at 6Y9 this weekend, mowed it ,set the runway cones, walked the runway. All is well and the runway is surprisingly dry for this time of year. Pretty solid and no standing water. Chased off some Canada Geese, so a low pass before landing is probably wise. The 10th 6Y9 Fly In is already...

New Aircraft Owner of a Cherokee 180D

Congrats, from one Cherokee owner to another. I have a 1972 PA28-180 G, learned to fly in it, still have it, love it,simple and flys easy.(love the johnson bar flaps) Not fast but reliable, great for pavement or grass runways. You mentioned wanting to change the outside lighting. I can...

    2015 Midwest Fly-in Spring Fling

Tim I see Diz already thanked you but I'll thank you again. I know it's a tremendous amount of work and I know exactly what you mean about "why do I do this".But, I have the same feeling as you said " when that first plane shows up" it is all worth it. Thanks to you and J for a really great...

Took a kid up for his first flight; disappointed.

When I was a kid all I ever dreamed of was fishing at the family cabin and flying someday. My oldest son became a pilot ,CFI then taught me to fly when I was 56. Two planes ( 3rd being built) in the family , son/brother a CFI, I approached my youngest son who works at GRR airport and asked him...

    Lightspeed Headsets

Another note on Lightspeed: They also give back to Aviation. Deserving groups involved in Aviation have received up to $10,000 from Lightspeed. The Recreational Aviation Foundation( RAF) a 501C3,that I volunteer for, has been the recipient a couple of times and that money is put to good use...

We are closer than ever, please contact your representative

Easy fix Let's get rid of the 3rd class medical, have them fly at 0-179 degrees odd +250ft and 180-359 degrees even + 250ft. I know we have some small issues at T.O. and Landing but by percentages we all spend more time enroute. AS my Dad always said about driving " Speed up, you'll have less...

Why do they call it a "runout engine"?

Also beware of rebuilt to spec (original) or rebuilt to minimum acceptable specs, been there done that. The later does not go to TBO. Very painful to the pocketbook.
