    Mooney fatal at Palo Alto

I have flown only once in Mooney with one of my friend and he told me that speed management is very difficult in Mooney on landing . The sleek air frame is hard to slow down and you have to be on toes to land it properly but with enough practice and familiarity with plane it can be mastered. I...

    cracking noise during fueling

That might be the reason I don't hear it on right side because I am close to the pump while filling right side

They are all ATC and nobody owns anything. I am not sure why you are making such a big deal about this

    cracking noise during fueling

When I fuel the airplane ( Piper Lance II with 2 interconnected tanks on each side ) especially if the tanks ( left side only ) is almost empty , I start hearing cracking noise as tanks starts filling half way. Noise is not really loud its just faint crackle but you can hear it. This has been...

    They knew who I am

last week I went on local flying , just a joy ride around the area with practice approach at Dubois. I did not contact ATC and was squawking 1200 all the time. Out of curiosity today I checked my tail number on Flight aware and there it was , my entire flight track with all the information...

    Baron

I have been looking into Barons too. What I found was that those with reasonably priced ( i.e. within my budget ) have very high TT 8-9 K hours . Those with low times are priced too high for me.

United Airlines FA has a federal air marshal arrested and handcuffed

Do we know other side of story? I highly doubt that trained professionals would do something like this without a good reason. Lots of FAs have very bad attitude and because they are unionized etc many of them think that they are above the law when they are in the air.

rationale for two panel mounted GPS

I have been looking at some planes on TAP and many of them have two panel mounted GPS but no PFD. I never understood the reason for that. I was told that you can copy the flight plans from one to another , and its a back up etc but I have been flying with 530 for many years and never felt a...

    Heat shield for engine cowling

Its a NA PA32 Lance not turbo. I have JPI 730 6 cylinder monitoring and I am very careful with temperatures. baffles seems to be in good shape as I am not having any trouble keeping temperatures down. Interesting to know that cowl heats up the most after shutdown . Makes sense as there is no...

    Heat shield for engine cowling

I just got my top cowling painted. It had lots of paint peeling off mostly because of heat damage . Now since it looks nice again I want to protect it from heat by using some kind of heat shield on the under surface of cowling. What works good for this ? Can I do it myself or I need A&P for...
