How do you forget to lower the gear?

I have close to 2000 landings in retracts and I dont remember ever coming even close to gear up ( I am very forgetful BTW ) I attribute this to the initial training during my first complex checkout and the instructor drilled into me to lower the gear to slow down on downwind. So first thing I do...

Next week I am planning a flight from my Home base at KFKL to go to Cedar City Utah - KCDC. Straight line terrain west of Denver is higher than me or my plane can deal with. so I will have to go around the terrain. I have some mountain flying experience but not a lot. The plane is Piper Lance (...

    Amphibian types and recommendations

I do have a sea plane ratings ( only 6 hours during training , never used it again ) and Little While ago I pondered idea of getting into amphibious/floats to try something new. I looked into Lake LA 4 and other models but I was told that they are neither good land planes nor good sea planes. Of...

Two instrument rated pilots, one under hood, in IMC, both log PIC?

I don't think you need any specific rule for VFR or IFR . If wx is IMC then you file IFR flight plan . Period . And a safety pilot no more needed because you are under direct control of ATC. . So in IMC question of who logs as PIC is moot. The guy/girl who filed the FP and is operating plane...

How is the twins market ?

May be not forever but for a long time. I am not an expert on this subject but here is what I am thinking. Us shale production of crude oil will keep going up for a foreseeable future and OPEC will react by increasing the production to drive CO price down to hurt US shale profits. OTOH more more...
