I heard you call final 04 and I heard N3804Q say they were taxiing to 22. I was at 22 doing my runup. When I first got to the airport I looked at the windsock, it was defiantly favoring 04 but it turned by the time I was ready to taxi.

I flew down to Sporty's (i69 Clermont County) yesterday. Mostly for something to do, but also too check out some handheld radios. I figured it would be busy, but I didn't realize just how busy! I counted 7 in the pattern when I was still 10 miles out. They thinned out a bit by the time I...

Garmin 750 and Flight Stream 510

Just a suggestion, I don't get the $700 bundle anymore. I just get the GTN United States Garmin Navigation Database for 300 bucks a year. That's really all that's required and I get everything else on my tablet.

    Whistling noise in IMC?

I’ve always been told it’s the wing strut? I don’t know if there’s any way to prove it but I can tell you the 177 and 210 don’t whistle in the clouds like a 182.

We had a 15-17k direct cross wind couple days ago. I decided to go mess around and practice X wind landings. I definitely prefer a left X wind to a right one. Anyone else have a definite preference?

Garmin 750 and Flight Stream 510

If you are using Garmin Pilot to update your charts through the 510 you only need to be connected to the 510 when you are doing the update (the updates are installed on the 510 SD card). After the update is installed you can switch your wifi to the Stratus. You only need to be connected to the...

If you can see it on the GPS your good. Yeah it’s right there, on my screen. Same thing works for traffic.

. what if one of the 2-3 planes on downwind is a King Air? That’s the part I don’t like. 500’ above puts you right in his face.

You don’t need both cards. The 510 is also an SD card itself. Just load everything on the 510 you don’t need the other SD card.

10 years ago I did my first trip to Shanghai. As “3rd world “as most of China is, they are way ahead of us in traffic light technology! The traffic lights don’t even have a yellow light. Instead they have a digital timer that counts down. So you can see exactly how much time you have before...
