    There always seems to be mechanics out there that do this. Ive seen a lot of this type of activity (drive thru annuals) type operations and lots of owners flock to these types of operations because they are cheap.

    Like someone else said here, if you are the one that will be returning it to service, I would have made sure they had all the proper manuals before I started the job. You will learn over time there are shops out there that will try to get by on the cheap and not have all the current maintenance...

    Thats exactly how I got my A&P. 30 months of work that was documented daily and signed off by an A&P. Got the FSDO's blessing and went through the prep school for two weeks and I was done.

    I took this route also. You are correct, there never is a dull moment. Ive always enjoyed the work too, and ive got to see a lot of of country moving around each time a job ends.

    Ive seen this before and the most likely outcome will be the owner turns it into his insurance co and they will pay for the repairs and then go after the FBO for recovery and the FBO's insurance pays up, if they have any.

    Mine was $155 for the house last month and hangar was $89, though Im not sure how I will get them paid yet.
