One thing that should have been taught to you in basic training, but was not.

Steveo1kinevo asks if anybody is in the pattern at non-towered airports. And he's the best pilot that I know. If it's god enough for him, it's good enough for me. Check it out at 1:58:

Yes, I should have added this to my post. I know some airports charge landing fees, but I never knew about ramp fees. And are courtesy cars like a rental or are they a loaner for a couple of hours? The etiquette with all that would be nice to experience.

Me three on the self-serve fuel thing. For me: non-towered airports: I did my training and 90% of flights in/out of busy Class D. My CFI and I did exactly 1 flight into Brookhaven (15 minutes away from FRG) for touch and go's at a time in the late afternoon when it was pretty dead. I know how...

    Even Delta is bouncing people?

That's the do-gooder lawyer who sat close to the guy and recorded the video and ran right to facebook to be the first to post it. Notice in each of these 3 cases, there's always people that butt in and escalate the situation. The white knight who came to the cry baby's defense on the AA...

    Club?

Hey all, I'm interested in taking a couple flights from NYC (FRG) to upstate NY, Syracuse (SYR) and Plattsburgh. It's about 3 hours each way. At $160/hr, that's almost $1000 rental for the round trip. I'm looking for a cheaper option. How do clubs work? I assume you pay a monthly fee of...

    Aaron Hernandez found dead

Apparently, it protects the murderer's heirs from being sued by the victim's family. Completely illogical but that seems to be MA law according to what I heard on Sports talk radio this morning.

    Aaron Hernandez found dead

Aaron Hernandez's murder conviction will most likely be vacated since he's now dead (per Massachusetts law). It's a strange law where if you die with an open appeal, your conviction is set aside. In another twist, The New England Patriots may have to pay his family the $3.25 million signing...

And we keep putting things off for later...

Condolences. I know what you mean. About 2 years ago, a friend of mine who lived in NJ (we live in NYC) passed away from a heart attack. My wife and I had been talking about going to visit him for a couple of years before that, but always something came up or we were too lazy to drive into...

    time to solo

I soloed at 112 hours, I spent over $30k on training. If you can afford it, go for it. Think of the extra hours not as a waste, but as gaining experience, and enjoy the extra flying, it's supposed to be fun. Read the comments that people made on my identical threads to yours. Like you, I got...

Harrison Ford avoids enforcement action for taxiway landing

Easy to prove your hypothesis. Land on a taxi way at a big Bravo airport and see what happens to you.
