    SR-22 Down at Bar Harbor

Seems like a stabilized approach... however, at 5nm out on the ILS 22 (assumption) they should have been at 2100' MSL, rather than ~1000' GPS altitude.

Southwest flight 150agl 4 mile final into TPA

Wow, just wow. You'd think WAAS would be a pretty simple high-payback upgrade.

Southwest flight 150agl 4 mile final into TPA

You're saying this airliner doesn't have WAAS or for some other reason can't fly (or at least follow) an LPV??

    Altitude Readability on GTN 650

I agree that the GTN 650 is a great device... however, I personally find it quite useless (as is the GTN 750 IMHO) for displaying approach plates and altitudes on the map. I turn off the GTN option for plates-on-map... and use the iPad/ForeFlight for much easier reading of approach plates...

FAA approves new Las Vegas area airport (with Spaceport?)

30 miles west of KLAS would put it roughly in the valley southwest of Mt. Charleston and south of Pahrump:

    G-1000 CHT display

On the MFD lower left there is likely a soft button for "Engine". Press and you should get the "full" engine page, ala:

    Dan Gryder Lockheed Electra Crash

BTW, in the original video of Gryder's about this accident it appears that neither the left or right seat pilots had (or were using) shoulder harnesses. Who these days doesn't upgrade their expensive aircraft with at least a shoulder harness?! Would have almost certainly avoided at least the...

Renting out my home flight simulator.

I believe you're correct... in order for a Student Pilot to log time, there needs to be a CFI by his/her side. On the other hand, I believe that an Instrument Rated and certificated pilot can fly and log approaches/holds for currency on an FAA-approved simulator (AATD or BATD) without being...

Alaska - Bering Strait - Little Diomede

I haven't seen any airspeed restrictions, although all my flights within/through the ADIZ have been below 140 KIAS. https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/atpubs/fs_html/chap5_section_6.html https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/us_restrictions/airspace/

Flight Plan Filed -- Told to Expect Different Route

As @luvflyin asks, what filed altitude is important... the MEA over DEWAY is 9500, meaning you'd have to file 11000'.

To be or not to be ... commercial availability of G100UL

Interesting... I've watched several hours of video webinars with George Braly as the lead presenter... and always came away with the impression of him as an honest, well-informed, experienced-in-engines kind of guy. Clearly YMMV Wayne

Best way to prepare for a flight to a new area.

All the things mentioned above. Last month with a couple of buddies, we flew a ~5000 nm trip all around Mexico, largely to places none of us had flown before. I e-flew on X-Plane 12 (on my <US$1000 home simulator) EVERY one of those miles (using "warp speed" for cruise) including approaches...
