    Posting Pictures to POA

Are those vBulletin sites SSL encrypted? Our site (as are most in 2019) is 100% SSL encrypted. So the images hosted on the site have to be served from a place that is SSL encrypted or else the browser doesn't accept it. There is actually a system built into Xenforo that caches a copy of pictures...

How do I stop all notification emails?

On your preferences page, do you have the option checked to email you about threads that you have participated in and subsequently watched?

Attention Mods - A Minor Suggestion

You already pointed out why you don't get a vote!

Attention Mods - A Minor Suggestion

From a technical standpoint, it wouldn't be that difficult. That said, I do fundamentally disagree with it. I'm just one vote on the MC, but I would vote against it. It's ok to discuss. Just don't speculate into dangerous territory and act like you know what happened by reading three paragraphs...

    10,000 character limit

@flyingcheesehead The limit is now 10,500. But I also set it so that it auto-bans anybody that attempts to post a message with any character count great than that. Because...come on... May the odds be ever in your favor!

2019 PoA site operations fundraiser - help keep PoA running (and free!)

We've officially met our fundraising goal! Thank you to those that have given so generously. I suppose I'd better get to work now that we know that site's sticking around for a while longer. ;)

I had to switch Xenforo to use a different image processor. The default Xenforo image processor doesn't handle them well. I had forgotten that they didn't work. Your reminder (and offer) prompted me to look into it.

I just updated the pricing and made it available on the upgrades page (same link). $5 gets you one month. A bargain at twice the price!

 I had to check to make sure it didn't cost us money.

I thought about it. But it usually goes so quickly that I was hesitant to spend the time working on it. As of this moment, we're looking to raise another $800-1000.

@EdFred Done. P.S. Don't make me regret it. (I don't want to have to disable it)

Sorry! That's why I thought it would be best if we took it to PM. Let's refocus on the important things...like whether or not we can log PIC! Without sufficient money in the coffers, how will people ever know???

Many many things to weigh, obviously. But the "one-stop shop" aspect of what you posted outweighs everything for me. I don't have time to manage a sendgrid account in addition to AWS. Nor encryption keys. Nor WAF. Nor a CDN provider. As it stands now I could create one login and grant complete...

I think we can agree that, if that is happening, the banners are not the issue. :D

$21/mo for a reserved instance t2.medium $25(ish)/mo for the related block storage (AMIs, instance and EBS snapshots, EBS for backups, etc.) $30(ish)/mo for bandwidth $3-5/mo for Route53 +Cloudwatch +Config +SES +GuardDuty +<a smattering of other things> It all adds up. That's the beauty of the...

Calm down, Tim. Nobody asked for a banner. It's a cheap (free) and fun way for us to thank those that have supported the site. Thank you for giving!

Probably for at least a week. Maybe two? Donations are processed by PayPal if that makes it any easier. No credit cards are entered (or touch our site).

Thank you for you donation! PayPal takes the first $.30. While we're thankful for anything, the fees involved in processing that certainly lessen the impact of the donation. If somebody would like to donate less than $20 they can PM me. I'll send the email address for the PoA PayPal account and...
