    Adding EI MVP 50

Thanks Dave, I do know they used the same lines that were used for my original Ei fuel totalizer. So the IFD440 did talk to that fine, and settings on that haven't been changed.

    Adding EI MVP 50

So my latest panel work is finally done, kind of. I love how it has turned out! I took it for a rest flight today, flew for about an hour just to see what is and isn't working properly. The only thing that isn't working is the MVP 50 is not talking to my IFD440, so I'm not getting fuel remaining...

Garmin Pilot And tablet purchase advice

I used to use Garmin Pilot on a Samsung tablet, it would lock up and reboot several times a flight, maybe it was the version of Garmin Pilot I was on at the time but it just wasn't stable enough for me. Also, you get more features on the iOS version of Garmin Pilot, the newest features always...

    Critique my avionics choices.

I was just faced with this decision as well. Originally was planning to add an 830, then decided I'd like to clean up my panel so was looking at a 900. After doing more research and some convincing from Chase Larebee at Avionic Source I decided on the MVP 50. It offers so many other features...

    Decision on Avidyne Equipment?

I think you still get a 60 day free trial of Jep data with the purchase of a new IFD so you'll be able to get the terrain data updated to the latest map during that.

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

I completely understand your point, and it's very valid for sure. In my situation I did save a considerable amount money by going with the Avidyne IFD440. First off they offered more on trade in than I could sell my 430w for locally, and much more than Garmin offered. Second, and more...

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

I've owned equipment built by JD, Massey Ferguson (now owned by Agco) and Fiat (owns Case/New Holland). All of them make good equipment, and all of them break down....only difference is the JD guys will never admit to it! As for Chevy, biggest pile of crap vehicle I ever owned was a GM product...

Twin Down in Sioux Falls, SD

It's sad, especially happening on Christmas day. The weather has been crappy around here, fog, freezing drizzle. Most pireps the last couple days have had a lot of light to moderate icing.

    Restarting The Search

As mentioned by hindsight2020, the Socata TB 20 would be worth a look. Low wing, 2 doors, Lycoming IO-540. They are a little faster than the 114's, at 65% power, burning 13.5 gal/hr, mine trues at 154 at altitude. Wide 50" cabin, headroom in the G1's can be an issue for some, I'm 5'10" and have...

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

Thanks Brian, Is there a way to check when you coverage ends? I thought I had done all those steps and would just like to check when my warranty will end. Gary

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

I'd agree with all of this. Plus at the time I did mine, when you registered your IFD they added 1 yr to the warranty. I'm not sure if they still offer that. I was showing some other pilots the IFD100 app the other day and they thought it was very cool and they had no idea Avidyne had it. I'm...

    No, mine is an AI.

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

I have a single G5, the Avidyne works fine with it. I also have a Garmin GTX345, again, it connects and works fine, I did have to add a line from the GTX345 to the IFD440 to get ADS-b weather in to the 440. I can't speak to connecting dual G5's to the IFD's, but a single works. I don't think...

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

I did the 430w to IFD440 swap, that's the quickest, least expensive way to go. And with the IFD100 app, which Garmin doesn't have anything like, you have a "big screen" IFD also. Also, no need to buy the added expense of Flightstream. Both wifi and bluetooth built in to every IFD box. I don't...

    Adding EI MVP 50

RMA #DA2937 I just ran the tracking # of the shipment, looks like they haven't arrived with you yet, scheduled for Monday. Thanks!

    Adding EI MVP 50

I love the IFD440, combined with the IFD100 app it makes a very nice panel. I'm planning on mounting the 12" ipad on a RAM mount on the right in front of the yoke, I'll run Garmin Pilot or FlyQ on that....

    Adding EI MVP 50

No I haven't, sent the old floats to ei on Monday so you should have them by now to calibrate the P-300M's. I'm excited to get it done! Yes, you can use the picture, but I'll be taking more pix when it's complete that I could sent. The MVP 50 fits so nicely in the center stack of the Trinidad!

    Adding EI MVP 50

My latest addition and subtraction from my panel. Taking out all the old engine gauges and adding a MVP 50 to the top of the center stack on my TB20. I'm hoping to have it all done in a couple weeks. The install will be done by then, but may be waiting on the new Ei magnetic float sensors to...

    Trouble deciding due to mission

A Trinidad could make it, depending on winds. 86 gal usable burning ~13.5/hr. The gen 1's will cruise just over 150kts, my TAS is 154 at ~9000. Still looking at a 5+ hour flight, again depending on the winds, longer than I want to sit in my plane. Most G1's have useful loads over 1100 lbs so...

    FlyQ 4.0 Red Barn

Yep, I was on the webinar. I liked the new features, but not really for the social aspects, just for the flight logging. I fly with an Avidyne IFD 440 so FlyQ connects to that nicely. I also have Garmin Pilot, really haven't left it just for the logbook feature.
