Does the >150NM Solo Cross Country require 3 landings at controlled airfields? Is my CFI wrong??

I had to stop into a tower controlled field when I did my long XC back in nineteen-eighty-*cough, cough*. Not sure if it was the regulation at the time or a rule at my part 141 puppy mill.

NOT end of story… 61.65 allows for instrument rating concurrent with private pilot practical test. § 61.65 Instrument rating requirements. (a) General. A person who applies for an instrument rating must: (1) Hold at least a current private pilot certificate, or be concurrently applying for...

    Solution: More cameras

In Trent Palmer’s case, you don’t even need a camera. /Just a video of an image that a different camera made. //…And then you can lose that video, somehow. ///…And it can be used as evidence in a hearing, somehow. Cameras and rumors of Cameras Matthew 24, probably

Theoretically possible to get PPL/SEL IFR and AMEL all at the same time?

Yes, theoretically possible to do the combined private pilot/instrument check ride followed by private pilot MEL checkride in one day. To schedule such an event may or may not attract the attention of an idle Friendly Aviation Administration inspector to come out and observe such a miracle...

How do you do the missed approach procedure? GPS required?

Thank you for the info. So I guess that means if there’s some kind of RAIM prediction/GPS outage you will not be able to fly a GPS approach nor have the ILS as a back up.

How many electric motors can an airframe have under MOSAIC?

Northern Californian company Aska showed this prototype of a flying car during Monterey Car Week that it hopes to produce within two to three years. The Aska A5 flying vehicle can take off both vertically and horizontally, an improvement on the "flying car" idea. The plan is to use these planes...

    Burnout

The push never ends: even at the airlines you’re pushing for more hours, a bigger paycheck, a better base, more weekends off, holidays off, summer vacation, a better seat, a bigger airframe. And come contract time you’re pushing for better work rules, a better quality of life. The push never ends.

What is your most valuable paid membership?

EAA is fresh in my mind because I had a ton of fun at yesterday's fly-in/pancake breakfast. AAA has bailed me and/or my wife out thru the years on dark and stormy nights when we’re broke down on the roadside. HOA keeps up appearances. PTA for providing the glue to the social fabric of our...

How do you spend 87 million on strapping a dozen electric motors onto an existing four seat airframe

Great analysis, Fast Eddie, I think you’re onto something. The government could not have possibly spent $20 million on batteries and motors and another 67 million on personnel. I think this money went into some kind of black project or maybe a secret slush fund… I hear some noise outside. I...

    1975 421B - Toilet / Galley Questions

It has been many years, but what I remember is the toilet bucket was very snug and difficult to lift out of the hole and then you have to carry it across the ramp to dump it somewhere. The bottom drawer I would fill with ice and drinks. I do not remember a funnel and tube.
