    Cessna 120's did indeed have an ash tray. Lower left hand quadrant of the fixed instrument panel, just under the magneto toggle switches. That was the first piece of panel real estate butchered for radio installation so the ash trays disappeared from all but the unmolested planes.

    See highlighted above. Here is an example: All transponders are required to meet a TSO. It's in the operating regs - 14 CFR § 91.215 - ATC transponder and altitude reporting equipment and use. Anytime operating regs say a TSO is required, it's required unless specifically exempted.

    Is your goal to work at Skywest the rest of your life? You won't get hire without 1500 hrs total time which from zero could take several yrs. Also, you should be able to get a private certificate for under $10k then you can decide on your next move.

    55% N1 is all it needs. The Challenger is a hard wing airplane so it would be a handful during circling even VMC circling maneuver such as this one.
