Late lunch at KBIS tomorrow Apr 7 - anyone in?

I enjoyed the trip. Those bumps from KDIK to KBIS... Mreh. Nothing compared to some stuff in the summer.[emoji23] Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Congrats, dude. Just hope you get the oath ceremony date soon, and don't have to travel to St. Paul or Bismarck for it. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Going from a 172 to a Warrior II

I finally did it. After months of delays, I am fractional owner in the Piper. Had my checkout flight couple weeks ago and enjoyed it. Landings were much better. [emoji3] Look forward to getting in some time and getting the commercial and CFI ratings Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Where and how much you paid for PPL

Check out KBRD. I got my IR there in 2017. Reasonable rates I feel and good instructors. Got my PPL just north of BRD in Backus. Of course that guy has shut shop and gone South. Was very reasonable and provided accommodation. I paid around 6K, in 2010. All in a 172. Sent from my SM-T580...

Going from a 172 to a Warrior II

Thanks all. As for the flaps... The current Cessna I rent has manual flaps. So that should not be a big deal. [emoji23] Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

    IFR with sectionals

I fly exclusively with paper charts. I started my training with no gizmos and find that more electronics usually lead to more distraction. The bird I fly now has a 430 (non-waas) and that is a big step up for me.

Going from a 172 to a Warrior II

Too many twos and tos in that title. This thread isn't meant to be a high-wing vs low-wing or Cessna vs. Piper fest. The opportunity has come up for me to buy share in a really nice '79 Warrior. Has the 180 horse and all the bells and whistles. I have 200 + hours - mostly in high-wing (172...

Help Setting up a Flying Club

Rentals in the local area are hard to find. Fargojet wants a 160 or more an hour. Local airport has a 172 and they want 150 bucks an hour. There are a good number of pilots around here who would like to fly, and some who'd probably like to get licensed. With this in mind, I think setting up a...

    No hole in my license.....

.. that's cause the DPE misplaced his punch someplace. Passed the Instrument checkride this morning. Was my second attempt, the last one was about 1.5. Years ago. Life seems to have gotten in the way. All done! Much better this time and confidence was way better than last time. Details in a...

How many hours is everyone flying a year?

That's about what I average a year. 2015 was a bit higher since I pursued my instrument rating. This year might be an exception as I pursue the commercial. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
