    CFI signing off questionable flight

Not a CFI and have not completed IR yet ... if this was a "one off" flight, am guessing you confirmed that the plane was IFR as far as Pitot-static is concerned and recent VOR?

Got Scammed on “Checkout” flight - Advice?

Like one of the others said ... I'd have just said I wanted 1-2 hours dual with a CFI and flown the flight you intended to do solo ... skip the check out, or better yet turn it into a BFR.

    RV capabilities

Been flying an RV7A for several years. The 7A gear towers are no issue (am 6'0"). Windy here in West Texas did notice that I could land my previous Tiger in a direct cross wind under 33 knots ... the RV7A runs out of rudder at 23-25 knots on direct cross wind. Tail is supposed to be the same...

My plane out of service, looking for fun things to do

What area do you live in? Your story sound almost Identical to mine. Am in El Paso, rentals were getting real dangerous, spent the time locating the Tiger I used to fly ... we only get about 2 IFR days a year here (one with TS-lightning and the other with ice :confused:). I'll finish it...

    Runway Incursions at Non-Towered Airport

At my field, we have several that have turned down their volume (training), think the pattern is empty, don't look up final and pull on out cutting off the aircraft on short final ... they did "annouce taking the runway" a microsecond prior to pulling out past the hold short lines ...

    How does Elon Musk’s G650 land and T/O on a 4,800’ runway?

Luckily, most of us will never have to worry about our jet being over-weight for a short runway;):eek::p

Personal x-wind minimums, & how often do you divert?

Ownership is best. My previous Tiger I had landed a 32G35 direct crosswind. My maxium was 55 knots directly down the runway. There was basically zero wind at altitude heaving to Carlsbad NM but winds were 50 knots on the ground, steady and actually fun landing (felt like walking and roll out...

Why do pilots land at the thousand foot markers?

Only landed there once, but can't remember if there were restrictions other than that RP* traffic pattern ... I hear KABQ RWY 3 can get some pretty nasty CAT shear off the mountain but have never landed there ...

    Stress test vs. angiogram catheterization

I hear you ... I'm in the field and the angiogram is normally the final say. My wife got an EKG at the GP office and they thought there was "an issue" ... it was repeated at the cardiologist office and they indicated they "thought they may be seeing something" ... PET scan was done "non-stress"...
