Stratus 3....can it be covered with paper or microcloth?

Hi am in Socal and I'm getting over heating alerts from the Stratus 3 while it is on the dash. Anyone tried covering it with a thin microcloth or a plain sheet of paper folded to cover the stratus without losing noticeable reception? I am getting an external antenna for my Stratus 3 but it...

Piper Arrow at tie down with dead battery...how to charge?

Thanks for this....im glad I don't have to use an A&P. I'll take the battery home and trickle charge it and see if it brings it back to life. I'll monitor the voltage and see if it holds for a couple days. If it drops, time for a new battery. Thanx guys, your comments were awesome!

Broken removal tab for the Garmin NavData card

aaah cool idea. BTW, I bought flygarmin navdata update...didn't realize that my card was a jepperson card. Luckily, the update did work with the Garmin data interface dock. There was some mixed messaging about that in the forums so I'd thought I share. Someone needs to do a full...

Broken removal tab for the Garmin NavData card

Guys, the plastic flip tab for my GNS 430 NavData memory card broke off. I saw an extracting tool online and bought it....was like $5. In the meantime can I just use a needle nose pliers to pull it out? BTW, to buy a new one is like $380 so I am ok with the broken tab as long as the card...

Looking for hangar space at Corona Airport (KAJO)

Analysis paralysis when looking for a plane to buy

I was in the same boat as you but my mission was for a plane that could go long distance. I too wanted a Cessna 182 but the prices people are asking for them are tainted with crack. I found this Arrow.....the seller posted it a day or two prior to me calling him and immediately I said "sold"...

Pilots Logbook in Excel Spread Sheet....I am sharing mine

For me, I sometimes get lazy and don't routinely transfer my hours from my logbook to the spreadsheet. The pages will tell me how many flight I forgot to enter.

Pilots Logbook in Excel Spread Sheet....I am sharing mine

Hey guys, I thought I'd give an early Christmas present for all you new fliers. Here is an Excel sheet so you can easily calculate your flight hours. It created it after fat fingering on the calculator too many times. It's simple but does the job. It is based on the Jeppeson Logbook. It...
