Thanks! I studied my butte off for it.... with the hope of not getting extra grilling by a DPE during the practical. I don't know how true that is or not, but I didn't want to take the chance since my private and IR rides went smoothly with brief oral portions...

Just scored a 99 on the comm written an hour ago. Now the fun begins....

Sounds like you learned a lot for a first lesson. Preflight, taxiing (no joke, you'd be surprised how many people bork that up the first time...), turns, maintaining altitude and airspeed, descents, crabbing into the wind, positioning ailerons into wind for rollout/taxi, touch-n-goes and a bunch...

Ditto what hang said.... I also like windy. Recently I have also been using the ForeFlight daily forecast to look at weather a week or so out. Those in addition to the prog charts. But it's all a bit of a crapshoot that far out.

You have to let it get past the awkward stage. Which, for some, can take a long time. For others (like me) it takes about five days. But why stop at letting the facial hairs grow free? Let the top-of-the-head hairs go, too. Long hair and a beard - that's the way to go.
