    Bought an airplane today

It has a nice 6-pack and a new vacuum pump. Indicator is just L/R, no GS but it has no nav radio anyway, just a single comm.

    Bought an airplane today

So my friend has two airplanes, both were out of annual, and little cash. I got the American Yankee through annual last September and he was supposed to sell it but never did. Then he had a prop strike. While fixing that last month, the annual ran out. I did the prop strike and the 100-hour (my...

For Sale Breitling Professional Emergency E56121.1 Original Owner SOLD

Dropping the price again. $2500 here, $2800 on eBay. If it goes much lower, I will probably buy it myself. LOL. I already bought his airplane today because he ran out of money to repair it.

"Flying out" a low cylinder compression?

Valve lash is to spec. Didn't do a wobble or look at the seat particularly. I'll do that after he flies the airplane a bit though, to be honest, if it doesn't come up then, the jug is coming off.

Staking the valve means to hit the exhaust valve stem with a mallet and piece of wood say while keeping pressure on the cylinder to knock anything...

"Flying out" a low cylinder compression?

So please correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard that if you have a low cylinder where you haven't seen that historically, that one thing you might want to try is just flying the airplane for 10 hours and checking it again. I'm getting 20 psi on one cylinder of an O-235. Last time I...

    "I'm not gonna lie..."

Really? Don't people sometimes tour a model home and contract to purchase that home on a selected lot? Anyway I've always taken existing houses to clearly mean houses that are not new. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

Would you VFR night fly with these simple instruments?

If I can be forgiven for rephrasing your question, let me put it this way. Should I let get-there-itis lead me into flying this airplane later into the evening than would be advisable or into deteriorating weather conditions? That is not meant to be an opinion or judgment on your aviation...
