    Slips and Skids

Is there ever any reason to intentionally skid an airplane. Except of course to tighten up that base to final turn or get a good look at that moose (disclaimer: those are jokes, do not take them seriously)

Talk Me Out of Upgrading to 6 Seats

Did you put your purchase budget number in there? I am thinking you will want to drop the FIKI requirement.

    Slips and Skids

I think most students have a good grasp of the difference by the time they are ready for their checkride. Are you basing your opinion on anything in particular?

    How to salvage auction?

I had meant to delete the bit about surrendering the airworthiness certificate. I don't think that's necessary. I would make a logbook entry for CYA in case someone repairs it without making any logbook entry and then there are subsequent issues. I would want a clean break and no question as to...

In that case, he should just put it on eBay. That's the ultimate salvage auction site. Just make sure to put in the log books that the aircraft is not airworthy.

    How to salvage auction?

I have a list of about eight salvage sites that I occasionally look at. Yes, a private party can bid, no problem. I bid on a couple of Citabria and due to a mix-up in how I placed my bids, I won the one I didn't really want for the price of the better one I did want but they let me off the hook...

I don't see a problem with that installation and I like that the unit is fully contained, except for the antenna of course, within the lens. The unit itself is fully weatherproof and the lens cutout is on the bottom so any water will drain and the cutout can be made cleanly. That said, I will...

And I thought $60 console games were expensive....

I play an online game that costs a little bit of money but I look at it as something I enjoy. I interact with people all over the world and it's pretty cool. That said, one of the top players in the game had spent probably USD 200,000, that is in US dollars! And lost it all when he left his...

Seeking Advice on Purchase & Ownership

Another bonus to a dirt simple airplane like a Luscombe. The fellow that owned the one that I flew was paying $600 for an annual. This was years before I got my A&P so it was nothing I was helping with. It was very much an owner assisted annual though.

If you could post a picture of how they mounted it, that would be appreciated. A close-up would be fantastic. I think there is a something out there to 3D print an adapter for it for this airplane.

What was involved in installing that? I own an original AA-1 and am working on both another AA-1 and an AA-1B.

Seeking Advice on Purchase & Ownership

Yes, you need to make a decision whether you want a sub $30k cash deal or finance a "nicer" plane. It all has to do with what you want to fly. I have 50 hours in a ctls and I am a fan of them. There's a nice ctsw on Barnstormers for $70k. You may or may not take some depreciation but I would not...
