    Extremely minor aviation pet peeves...

I think the point may have been: White Cessna taking off runway 17. While that's happening. White Cessna turning cross wind and White Cessna downwind midfield, and white Cessna base. VS. Cessna 123A taking off runway 17. While that's happening Cessna 456B turning crosswind and Cessna 789C...

Adventure bikes are interesting. The ones that are comfortable on road are heavy and have tires that make dirt a challenge. The ones that are good off road are horrible on road and only really good for short distances to get from one trail to the next. My ultimate adventure bike is a pickup...

Those things are horrible. I got some of the progressive HD shocks for the Ultra (forgot the number maybe 412?). They are not great but they are way better than the air shocks and they were somewhat reasonable ($300-ish?). I would have liked to get Ohlins but they are really expensive and unless...

Bill pretty much sums it up. What I noticed most was the stock suspension had little to no damping. I recall it bottomed out pretty easily (but it was a long time ago). I think the forks would top out also, but I might be making that up. The stock dampers are just a tube with a couple holes...

If you don't already have some kit in the forks I recommend the Racetech kit. It can also be used as a lowering kit. I have a 21" front wheel, but I didn't lower the forks. I wanted the increased height (I also have longer rear shocks). The RaceTech kit really helps the forks. Still not as good...

One is a 1991 900 SS. The other is a 1998 916 SPS. It has the 996 engine. This isn’t mine but has more details on the bike: https://www.bike-urious.com/1998-ducati-916-sps-3/

The best thing I found to reduce buffeting was the KlockWerks windscreen. I tried all combinations of tall, medium and short Harley windscreens without success. I ordered a taller screen and cut it down to my height and that helped tremendously. I have an Ultra and found that removing the leg...

Can you hit the CLR Line Select Key? I thought I could do that but it's been a while so I don't trust my memory.

FROM: https://pilotsupport.avidyne.com/kb/article/542-Approach-Procedures/ TIPS AND TECHNIQUES Discontinuities During Approaches Before you insert an approach at an airport, the FMS is being told to fly a leg directly to the airport (i.e. the reference point) and the legs on the map reflect...

Do I Need to File a Report?

Happened to me a few years ago. A bit different scenario because I heard "cleared to land" from the tower. When I clicked the PTT to respond I lost all electrical. Luckily the gear was already down. The FSDO called a while later and asked for: ************ Please send copies of the records...

Skylane vs SR-20, reliability & maintenance

Not ktup-flyer, but I’ve owned 2 C182P that would cruise 145-147 KTAS (GPS 3 leg verified). One was PPonk the other an Airplains IO-520, both had 2 blade MT Props. C182s seem to cruise between 125-150 KTAS depending on engine, speed mods and rigging. I’ve never flown an IO-550 equipped C182 but...

Can someone tell me what this number is?

I think it’s the “NATO Stock Number” or “National Stock Number” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_Stock_Number

    Really?

Didn't say it made any difference. I listed because it's a data point. I wouldn't have responded for that reason alone. I don't really care one way or the other. I only responded because on other forums they get some good reviews (and on the aircraftspruce website). Just trying to add data...

    Really?

From the FAQ, you use the flap handle until the "normal" flap lever is within reach There is a lever on the flap handle that operates the button. Either the button or lever will release the flap from the notch I don't have the EZ-flap handle, but I can find the button by feel w/o looking. I...
