I have a little time in one of those Redbird sims in Charleston. I thought it would be great to practice gusty cross wind landings and other difficult landing situations at no risk of beating up an airplane. The landing practice was of no value to me as the sim really didn't "simulate"...

You are correct Pilot Steve. I had to do a go around on my first trip. Just remember to identify yourself as "Gilliam McConnell" traffic and not "BQ1" traffic. Best advice given to me by a local pilot was to nail the airspeed on final. Not much room to float.
