    WTF is Gross Weight?

That might increase your useful load :-P

    New York CITY!

The thing about TEB is it seems to mirror VNY. Have you experienced a significant delay getting IFR release there while a conga line of business jets gets their turn? Those commercials were a key part of my formative years. I'm assuming it wasn't in the Airbus :-P. Pretty sure JFK only...

Duke down and on fire, Fullerton CA

Wow. Just wow. The crazy thing is that the accident had all the hallmarks of a Vmc roll and Dukes are known for requiring a ton of rudder, so most folks were thinking the guy just was rotating under red line at FUL to clear the fence at the end of the short runway.

Any Non-Passenger Charitable Orgs for Sport Pilots?

Not all dog rescues suck. I've flown dogs so disabled they had to be loaded into a cart to a rescue in RDD that just takes in dogs that no one else will. Lots of dogs off the streets of TIJ. Here in San Diego County, I think my cat was even less than that at the Humane Society.

Not sure how this happened to me...

Ha! How awesome. You guys should get in touch with Greg Mink and let him know how he indirectly got you guys married.

Any Non-Passenger Charitable Orgs for Sport Pilots?

Pilots N Paws is great. You'll find that you end up getting to know 2-3 people who do a lot of rescue coordination and fly with them. During the depths of COVID last year, my airplane partner and I were doing flights at least weekly. Some dogs have pretty hefty price tags. I'd be leery of...

Are there ANY EFIS that are certified for primary airspeed indication?

The GI275 solution is useful when 1) you want to keep an old autopilot and still dump the vacuum system or 2) you want to keep the circle dial form. In general, installation costs on a GI275 set up is going to be less than a G3x, due to much less cutting and the like.

    Drone vs 172 - Canada

I think if there was a tower, they might have trained the police on airspace rules. A Class C or D surface area there instead of the current oddball MF Class E would have helped.

    Drone vs 172 - Canada

I mean, I think the Brits have it right with how cops should be equipped, but that is a bit omni...;-)

    Drone vs 172 - Canada

Another reason closing towers at airports like Buttonville is idiotic.

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

I'd certainly hang on to it. Right now, we're selling the Bonanza and looking to move to an Aerostar - me for speed, weather and distance and my partner for weights and speeds cause he has a wife and 3 kids. However, we're keeping the Tiger for the shorter stuff where it makes no sense to burn...

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

Outright efficiency is one thing, but there is a lot to be said for flying that fast on that little bit of gas. As amazing as the Acclaim, 252 and Bravo are, I really think the Ovation is where Mooney knocked it out of the park.

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

He has 2 Arrows and both have similar ULs. My full fuel UL is 600 pounds. That's 3 good sized dudes, or an easy 4 person plane with full fuel if people weigh less. Of course, you can always reduce fuel.

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

Lol. Must have been running on 2 cylinders. There's a flight school based at my home field with a huge Archer fleet. I also trained in an Archer. I'm generally 20-30 knots faster. And the handling is unparalleled. As someone who also owns a Bonanza 33, there is NOTHING that handles like a Tiger.

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

My Tiger has a 915 pound UL (with a vacuum system). My friend's Arrow is 965. That is just about 6%. And it is much easier to work the CG on my Tiger than his Arrow, especially if you need to trade gas for payload. Don't even need a constant speed prop. I regularly true between 143 and 148...

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

Depends, but Arrows usually have about 5% more UL. That said, they are easier to get out of CG

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

Tigers are faster than Arrows. Nearly uniformly. The exception is if you go on oxygen in a turbo Arrow. They're both ridiculously easy to fly well. In fact, I think Arrow handling is quite underrated. Not as amazing as a Tiger, but they are no dump truck. Landings can be tricky, but they...

    Air Wagner..... He’s baaaaackk.

Eh, he (not me) was trying to convince another guy to not go in. We have had several good laughs about how you and Ed think I'm him.

Any tips for a pilot starting instrument?

I think flying and learning the ground go hand in hand.

    Air Wagner..... He’s baaaaackk.

ASOS reported visibility of greater than 10 and doesn't report ceiling. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
