    Flew through a TFR.

Titled spells it out exactly... Met with a potential buyer for our aircraft at the airport this morning. We agreed on a price and we decided to fly the airplane to another airport (KPNE) 12 miles away so he could do his pre buy. I take off at my airport (N14) which is uncontrolled, get to about...

    No prison time!

Sounds like just for his probation term. I wonder if some good boy FAA narc ratted him out or the FAA discovered this on their own by looking for certain ads like he had posted.

Piper Arrow flood on the market

What manifold pressure and RPM are you climbing out at? When I did my commercial stuff in the arrow the CFI's taught us to cruise climb by pulling the power to 25" and 2500 at 500agl. This drastic lowered the climb performence VS full power it seemed. I guess it helped save the flight school...

    Old airplane resale values

+1 to this. Usually planes upgraded to this level are hard to find in my opinion. I think a plane upgraded with glass w/ newer interior is going to sell much quicker than one with old outdated avionics, paint and interior even if the price reflects that.. I rather buy the already upgraded...

    IO550 vs Cirrus installation

Yeah and what's the reasoning for this???? I once read something I thought was very funny.... the air conditioner option in the Cirrus costs as much as a new Honda Accord yet the air conditioner that comes with the Cirrus does not even work nearly as well as the AC in the Honda Accord. LOL.

    Expensive airplanes have right-of-way

I always try to fly straight in if possible. Why do a full pattern if your lined up and the traffic pattern is empty? After I got my PPL one of my CFI's would hear me call making a straight in on the CTAF and scold me about it once I got on the ground. The guy was dead against making straight...

    Thrust reverser on a PA32

About 2 weeks ago I was flying north going to MMU in my Archer II to visit my sister. Had about 150-155gs NICE! on the way back home heading south had between 65-70gs. I think this may be the slowest cruise I've ever had in a GA plane. Seemed like the auto traffic below me heading south on the...

    Negotiating Price of fractional ownership

Just curious what type of plane it is?? Year, make and model, avionics??

    Training in the CJ 6

There are about 5 of these based at my home airport (N14). They are usually out all flying formation, pretty cool. The MX shop on the field specializes in servicing them and the owner owns one himself. Very cool planes and surprisingly cheap for what they are.

    Dakota Vs SR20

Doesnt the comanche also have the elevator trim on the ceiling?? I have a about 40 hours in an older cherokee that has that setup and just could not get used to it.

    Dakota Vs SR20

Thanks for all the replies. We have looked at a lot of SR22 ads online. There are some very nice G2's for around 200-250k. Only problem is I will have to finance my share if we go that route and I dont think I'm totally comfortable with that. Bottom line is it sounds like we have somewhat ruled...

    Flying a 152?

You may not be a huge fan if your used to the C172. I actually find it more difficult to land and it gets rocked around in the wind and bumps very easily. Just feels less stable to me. Controls are significantly lighter. Spins are much more fun though.

    Dakota Vs SR20

A retract is an option. I'm starting to look at F33's now that some seem to think a nice bonanza can be aquired In our price range. I really thought that while the SR20/22 may be a bigger acquisition cost it would beat the bonanza on operating costs mainly in the MX department. Anyone have good...

    Dakota Vs SR20

What are some of you cirrus guys seeing for yearly maintenance expenses? And what are those expenses usually going to? Not including the chute. I'm curious as to how much more expensive it would be compared to the bonanza.

    Dakota Vs SR20

This frightens me a bit.. What was the 30k this year spent on?? Was it mostly due to avionics, engine or airframe related problems?

    Dakota Vs SR20

Thanks for all the responses guys. I love how this has turned into a bonaza thread lol. I guess the consensus is before we make a decision we'll have to track down and fly in a bonanza. I think some of you are right, a step up to the Dakota for speed will ultimately leave us wanting more in the...

    Dakota Vs SR20

Are these numbers for the F33 or the A36? I have never flown a bonanza, dont really know anyone that has one near my home airport. I never really have been able to get over the style and appearance of the F33 and pre 1984 A36 panels. They seem hideous and the flight control/yoke assembly seems...

    Dakota Vs SR20

Hi all....My uncle and I are currently about to put our 82 Archer II up for sale as we are looking to move up to something with a better avionics package and something that can move through the air a bit quicker. Currently looking at Piper Dakotas and possibly exploring the Cirrus SR20 and maybe...
