    Bad Arrow III Wing Spar

Just an update to this. The owner wanted his own mechanic to come, take the wing off, and do a dye penetrant test. I guess he didnt want to believe the eddy current results. Well they did it today under the presence of the FAA and a piper rep and it failed. The owner after accepting the results...

    Reduced Power takeoffs

This 100%.. it is actually better for the engine to let it turn at 2700 rpm in the climb vs 2500.. the guys at GAMI have the most technologically advanced test cell for recip engines and have found that internal cylinder pressures and heat are what puts the most wear on the jugs. Lots of old...

    Bad Arrow III Wing Spar

My uncle decided to pass on the airplane. It really sucks because this whole pre purchase ordeal cost him around 3500 bucks. The broker for the plane called him a few hours ago to let him know the owner is having his mechanic and someone from the FAA flown in to where the plane is currently at...

    Bad Arrow III Wing Spar

Obviously the price is going to be lowered if he decides to go throught with the purchase of this thing. But by how much. Is it really that simple to just deduct from the price the cost of the repair? I believe the downtime could he a couple months and like what others said there could be more...

    Bad Arrow III Wing Spar

My uncle has a beautiful arrow III in pre buy inspection. 7850TT 9 out of 10 paint and interior, 300smoh engine and prop, GN530w, aspen w/ synthetic vision, stec 55x, and GTX 345, and all the speed mods. Used as a trainer in the past but has been private owned and flown for the past 15. Test...

Piper Aztec vs. C210 vs. Cherokee 6 vs. Lance/Saratoga

The lance/saratoga is a great plane for hauling some people/load. Out of the c210, bonanza, or cirrus its cabin wins hands down. Its downside imho is it burns quite a bit of gas 17-18gph to get into the 155-160ktas range. I chose the f33a bonanza over the lance/toga because 90% of the time im...

Piper Aztec vs. C210 vs. Cherokee 6 vs. Lance/Saratoga

Cant believe I'm the first to throw this out there.... love my F33a bonanza! @ 8000msl I'm doing 165-170ktas at 13.5gph. This is pretty hard to beat if your mission is you and 1 or 2 pax. It's not as economical (speed/fuel burn) as the mooney or as spacious as the lance saratoga but basically a...

Small plane charter? KMYR to KDYA?

Just curious where/how did you find that pricing? And what aircraft is it? Baron?

You must make a (hypothetical) choice...

I cannot understand the infatuation with C182s so many people have. 135ktas at 13.5 GPH is basically pitiful imho, the wings are on the top which makes every self serve fuel stop harder than it needs to be, nothing spacious at all about the cabin, currently obscenely ridiculous market prices for...

    $Making That Money$

I find this really hard to believe. Their pay scales are posted on airlinepilotcentral and a topped out widbody captain would need well over 2000 hours of pay even with lots of per diem to get to 900k. I think most captains are making 250-400 and the f/os are a little more than half of that...

    Need Portland ME PIREP

Hey all me and my old lady want to take the bonanza up to Portland ME this coming weekend. First trip there. Anyone familiar with the area that can give us some advice on some must see or great things to do? Good restaurants? Best place or area to stay in? Is KPWM are best option to fly into...

Do they teach correct patterns any more?

There also just the issue of commen sense and courtesy... a big twin coming straight in and here you are just doing touch and goes in the pattern. If I were doing pattern work i would have defintely just extended my downwind leg to accommodate the guy in the much bigger plane that just wants to...

I think I now know why some of you are concerned about flight privacy

If I know the FAA and how they are on all things medical, once pot is legal on a federal level we should maybe expect to be allowed a joint on an 8 hour puff to throttle basis sometime in about 35-40 years after full legalization.

Most of us arent drug smugglers. Still dont care if you can see me on flightaware. No one is stalking me or my airplane.

    Upgrading from a Dakota

I am a new F33a owner. Mine is a 1974 model with tip tanks and an IO-550 upgrade, I have a GTN750 in it and it has the KFC200 autopilot. The KFC200 is an old autopilot but works pretty danm well for its age. If you can find one with an empty weight CG of 80 or less you wont have any problem...
