How about using color of the plane? Was flying last night and a white Cessna called he was on downwind. It was dark out, how the hell you think I can see the color of your plane. And the white Cessna following the other 3 white Cessna any other time?

My buddy that I fly with uses the foreflight checklist. The run up seemed like it took forever to go through. And the. Pre landing he is fumbling around with the iPad so much he didn’t realize we were in a 20 deg bank. I was gonna let it keep going, but he finally noticed.

Yep, many crashes end in death, if they survive they are so beat up in critical condition it’s years long recovery, if 100% is even possible, then the few cases where pilots walk away with a few bumps and bruises.

All examiners are different, and some will switch things up on one checkride compared to another.
