    TruTrak firmware is ready!

Yes, when paired with either an Aspen or Garmin G5. It will follow whichever heading you set on your PFD display's heading bug. In addition it will sync whatever altimeter baro setting you set in your PFD as well, so no longer will you have to enter it in the PFD AND the Vizion.

Anyone do the new Aspen E5 ?

Personally I can't stand flying behind the G5. My buddy has them. The displays are freaking tiny and they wash out in the sun pretty easily. Those two problems make them useless too me, regardless of what other features they have. If I can't see the dang thing, what good is it doing me?

Anyone do the new Aspen E5 ?

The CDI/DG on my E5 present the same exact information as you get on an HSI, just in a different format. I actually like it better to be honest. It's more than just a DG or a plain old CDI. All the same exact information is there that you'd get on an HSI.

    Trio vs TruTrak

They've not gone silent. They are quite active on their Facebook page. It was submited to the FAA for another review and thats where its awaiting now. There were some changes that the FAA had requested on the brackets for the 177 installations as well, and those new bracket designs were also...

Anyone do the new Aspen E5 ?

I have an E5. It's not a CDI as you are used to. It actually presents ALL of the same information you get from an HSI, just in a slightly different format. It's the exact same information. You can fly it just like an HSI with about an hour of transition time to learn the differences.

    C182 vs PA-28 cabin width

Believe it or not, a Cessna Cardinal 177 is wider than both the 182 and the PA-28. Sooooo much freaking room in these birds and they are sooo comfortable to fly. My cabin width is 48". And the fuselage is sort of rounded with the widest part being right at your hips with the door panels having...

    Airventure Discounts on engine monitors?

Yeah I am leaning heavily towards JPI because it doesn't seem that Saavy supports any data formats from EI. That's a big draw for me to use their free engine analysis.

    Airventure Discounts on engine monitors?

Hey all, I am not going to be able to make it to Osh Kosh this year for air venture, so I was wondering if anyone has heard of any deals that might be offered on engine monitors? My Cardinal RG has the stock engine instruments, and I'd like to pull them out and stick in a certified replacement...

    E5 without panel GPS

Degraded functionality? I don't follow. The E5 uses GPS ground speed in its solution for attitude and cross checking. If your pitot tube gets blocked, you will get a notification on the display that the unit is now using GPS ground speed in place of airspeed, and it cautions you of the...

    Remember when...

There won't be a delay. The FAA gave us PLENTY of time to get ready for this. My airplane is ready. There are cheap and quick options to get ready.

Have any pics of the Zulu 3's and how old are they? Do they have the newer style cord on them? I'll be in Houston (The woodlands area), this coming week, could I swing by and look possibly?

UAVIONIX and Flight tracking on apps

FlightAware is helping develop a version of dump1090 (dump978 / PiAware) so that data feeders can start feeding 978UAT data as well as 1090es. I have a feeder that I send data to FlightAware and FlightRadar24. I'd imagine that once dump978 / PiAware has gotten stable and feeders start adding...
