    TruTrak, where are you?

Steve, I have some questions: Is there REALLY a fee to upgrade the Vizion? I was always under the impression it was going to be a free upgrade (we pay shipping of course). Are there any plans to expand the AeroCruze 100 line for existing customers? Meaning adding things like an electric /...

I dunno... my TruTrak still flies likes its on rails even after the BendixKing buyout. And I've been flying behind it for almost 18 months now..... EDIT: Did they record the webinar? Anyone from here attend that can share their annoucements?

New Pilot, Trip over the Appalachian Mountains.

Howdy! I live in Southeast TN, just outside of Chattanooga. I usually fly east over the Appalachians a good bit. BUT, I am a VFR only pilot currently, so when I am flying over them, I am usually going in really nice weather. Treat them with respect and give about 2000 or 2500 foot over the...

    10k foot level view

I talked to BendixKing this weekend at the Tullahoma AOPA fly-in. They were super excited to have TruTrak, and they mentioned that TruTrak is currently moving into a new larger building and they were in the middle of re-working their social media for TruTrak as they have some new marketing...

So now you just have to hope and pray that the GFC gets approved for your airframe. Otherwise you spent a bunch of money on something that hasn't came to fruition yet, and are in a walled garden.

NARCO 12D Display Failure- Replace it With What?

Sure thing! I'll send it to you via a private message. It will hit your inbox shortly. Hope it helps. We saved both of our Narcos and it's pretty easy to do.

    TruTrak and LNAV+V & LNAV/VNAV

My mistake.. I was thinking the Sorcerer WAS the experimental version of the Vizion.

    TruTrak firmware is ready!

Hmm... I'm getting way different informaton from three different people: Andrew at TruTrak, the local Aspen guy, and you an experienced installer. So the Aspen guy was saying there was something up with the labels they are sending to the Trutrak, which will be addressed in a soon to be...

    TruTrak firmware is ready!

Thats not quite right. the RSM that comes with the E5 does indeed have OAT. Its a magnetometer and OAT. My E5 has been configured to send the OAT to my IFD540 and it works.

    TruTrak and LNAV+V & LNAV/VNAV

You're not wrong Flybuddy. IAS climb is certainly not a "need to have" as the TruTrak is certainly easy to adjust mid-climb. Having these features also does not influence my decision on the AP either, hence why I bought a TruTrak :) It would be nice to have in a long climb as I usually find...

    TruTrak and LNAV+V & LNAV/VNAV

There are only two things I want in my TruTrak that the GFC500 has: 1. Indicated airspeed climb 2. Auto Pitch Trim capability (its an additional $3000 on the GFC500, but it IS available) Having some audio cues would be nice, but not a big deal.

    TruTrak and LNAV+V & LNAV/VNAV

Not sure where they are getting this false information. There is nothing in the pilot guide, or installation manual that forbids or " illegalizes" and LPV approach. The TruTrak will follow WHATEVER the navigator tells it, so its more of a failure on the navigator if anything. The Navigator...

    TruTrak firmware is ready!

This is what I have gathered. The Aspen sends the vertical steering passthrough but not with the correct labels that the TruTrak understands. When I talked with the Aspen Rep (name withheld for privacy...heh) He said they are working on three things right now to be released in the next quarter...

    TruTrak and LNAV+V & LNAV/VNAV

No idea where these “sophisticated owner circles” are, but my trutrak is a damn fine autopilot regardless of what the visibility conditions are. Not even sure how that really matters. And can confirm...it flies an LNAV+V from my ifd540 like it’s on rails. There’s several videos on YouTube...

    TruTrak firmware is ready!

No, from what Andrew was replying to me in Facebook, for an Aspen. You can have a toggle switch to ENABLE vertical steering from your navigator. So essentially it goes like this: Navigator sends lateral steering and vertical steering / flight plan --> Aspen. Aspen only passes through the...

    Any Flight Bag advice?

I have been really eyeing the Duluth Trading company bags, not for just flying but for every day carry. I travel a lot for work and have to carry my "tools" with me. I go through backpacks and bags like crazy from wear and tear. They make all sorts of shapes and sizes, and they look and feel...

    TruTrak firmware is ready!

Sort of. If you have an Aspen, you can use the GPSS button on the PFD itself to switch between sending heading bug steering or steering based on the flight plan from your Navigator (GPSS steering) No toggle switch needed. In an Aspen, you only need a toggle switch installed if you want to...
