Why do they say "Anyone can learn how to fly"?

Most absolute statements don't work as literal statements. But I think it's true that "most" people can learn to fly in benign conditions. A subset of the group can learn to fly to ACS standards. As a group, we do puff out our chests a bit much and make it sound harder than it is.

Why GA exclusive w umbrella policies?

^^^ This. Individual Umbrella policies are a commodity sale. I've also seen it on business policies, though most business policies are individually underwritten. I've always asked for it's removal and never been refused, I doubt you can do this on an individual policy anymore.

Mark Baker to step down at AOPA

Yup, that was Inhofe's work. AOPA was pushing a competing proposal to limit the expansion of SP to the recreational pilot level. They came around at the end though and that did help, but they weren't leading..

That's how we got Fuller. Let's not do that again.

    Real EstateAttorney

Very likely your title company has a real estate attorney on staff who is reviewing the package. But I'd ask.

    National Association of Realtors verdict.

A couple decades ago I bought and sold a house to move upmarket. Looking at 2 commissions (I paid one) I wondered WTF was the money for, so to see what the real deal is, I took a class, passed the license tests and became a realtor (now expired). Mostly it is a racket IMHO, although the...

    MOSAIC Status

I have the same wording as Half Fast. AP is the broker, Starr is the underwriter. BasicMed is no problem (on my policies). There are still people who don't believe in BasicMed for some reason.

Well, we don't have proof it isn't. Government Grants to the well connected are needed I hear.

    Revoked license.

Of course they might have a problem getting the IACRA sign off where I think they would need to be put for the FAA.

    Advanced Avionics vs. Conventional instruments

I learned maps in Pathfinder school and it was absolutely track up. Always, all the time. Match what you're looking at with the map. If you see a hill on your right, there should be a hill just right of your thumb.

Non-aviation: advice for selling first house

About 25 years ago after selling one house and buying one I looked at the total paid and asked WTF did I just pay for. Especially as a buyer. I picked the houses off realtor.com or redfin.com and had whoever show it and fill out a pre-printed offer. It seemed like a racket. So I took a course...

Southern Airways Express C208 Lands on Highway Near Dulles

Local tv has a phone video from a pax talking to the copilot right after. She said they lost power, started a return to the runway, realized that wouldn’t work and picked the best spot they could. Sounds like good ADM and execution to me.

    Supreme Court: Chevron Deference

Nope. They would still write regulations IAW the law and their legal authority. But if they want to make unreasonable interpretations, try you and punish you, they would have to defend them in court. You know, a checks and balances thing.

Southern Airways Express C208 Lands on Highway Near Dulles

That's very near me. The weather is IMC for sure, but well within the capability of that plane and pro pilot if everything is working OK. I'll be interested in what happened. Landing on that road took some skill/luck avoiding the datacenters, wires, lights, etc. Great outcome.
