Airplane camping tips, tricks, equipment, and advice ...

I use a tarp over the wing every year at OSH. Once with our 172 and the rest of the time with the Citabria. I put a thin blanket under the tarp to keep it from rubbing the wing...it's worked great for me over the years. It's amazing how much I can get in the Citabria for camping at OSH...

    Grass strip length

You have hog-removal devices? :D Gaston's has Bermuda. We have fescue here in southwest MO, and sometimes we wonder if Bermuda would be better for us. All the other local strips have fescue as well. We need to re-seed our runways. The fescue clumps, making it more rough. Bermuda spreads...

Flue Season is here- I opt out of flue shots.

I was surprised at how much my ER bill was after I made a visit there a few days after I returned home from Europe this May. That ER visit for H1N1 and bacterial pneumonia cost over $6,000 and then there were other meds and follow up visits and follow up x-rays in addition to that initial ER...

Now Is The Time To Fly!

Are you back home now? This afternoon Tom will be taking his cardiac rehab nurse flying in the Citabria and then we're hanging out by the hangar with several friends near the fire in the fire pit, roasting hot dogs, and marshmallows (s'mores...yummm), drinking hot chocolate and apple cider...

    2013 Reno Air Races Summary

Cris is a good friend of mine. He is the mechanic who recovered my airplane. I also made a few videos with him/about him. His Pitts fit in my hangar when he stayed with us. I think it's the only airplane that would fit the same time mine is in there. :)

    Thank you, Bruce. :)

A HUGE "Thank you!" to Bruce Chien, for helping my husband get his medical back. Words can not adequately express my gratitude. Tom will once again be able to do what he loves, and that is teaching people to fly. Tom has a lot of students eager to either get back to flying, or to start flying...
