Plane down off of Cape May, NJ

Same here, just trying to understand what could have happened. From the central Crest area, Google maps measures about 7.4 miles along the coast to the crash site. The distance from the Crest to KWWD is just 4.9 miles. If he were having engine trouble at the location at which the second video...

Plane down off of Cape May, NJ

That second video looks like it was recorded in Wildwood Crest, which is a good 6-7 miles away from where the plane went down.

Plane down off of Cape May, NJ

Very sad. I’m a Cape May Beach Patrol alum and know that area like the back of my hand. There’s a large expanse of fairly unpopulated beach there (especially pre-season mid-week) and it looks like the tide was out. Would seem a very attractive option for a forced landing.

For Sale WTB: Cessna 150M Spinner

^ Really? The assembly on page 6-14 has a -S item number which I thought meant "standard" and therefore required? Would it have to specifically be the -R to be a required item? I'd be thrilled if I can keep flying while I figure this out. Jim

For Sale WTB: Cessna 150M Spinner

I talked to Kim at K&K yesterday. He initially thought he could repair mine based on the external damage, before I pulled the spinner and realized that internal wear from the bulkhead had caused the crack. Waiting to hear back today if he still thinks it's fixable and/or if he has any...

For Sale WTB: Cessna 150M Spinner

Anybody know where I can find a suitable used spinner for a ‘76 150M? Mine appears to be damaged beyond repair and I haven’t had any luck at the usual salvage places. Jim

    IPTV Apps on Firestick?

Spot on. We had a Fios TV package but they jacked the rates at the end of the contract. Went to Comcast, internet was terribly unreliable and their support was even worse. I broke my contact after about four service visits and countless hours on the phone with totally ineffective "technical...

    IPTV Apps on Firestick?

^ Thanks Dale. Pretty much the confirmation that I was looking for. I think my decision is made to avoid a non-name brand service. No regrets cutting the cord. Was tired of getting gouged by Comcast and Verizon. I feel like the big streaming services are still playing some of the same games...

    IPTV Apps on Firestick?

Still trying to figure out if my central concern here is valid. Anybody know if there is malicious potential with a third party app on a Firestick?

    IPTV Apps on Firestick?

Certainly not compared to cable, but by the time I get the different channels to keep everyone in the family happy I'm in their premium package. The IPTV offerings have a surprisingly robust channel list for $30/month. I've been trying all of them. Fubo was our least favorite, DirectTV now our...

    IPTV Apps on Firestick?

We recently cut the cord and I've been testing some of the streaming services. In addition to the pricier mainstream offerings (DirectvNow, Philo, Hulu, etc) some of the IPTV services are attractive. I tested one in particular, but have some concerns because it required me to download a third...

    Banner Tower Crash Fort Lauderdale

I watched a banner snag a para sail once. Dragged the boat backwards while the plane struggled to stay airborne. Somehow they broke free, the banner never released. It happens quickly.

    WingX V9 preview

I found and reinstalled the old v7 through roughly this process: App Store -> Updates -> Purchased -> “Not on this iPad” tab -> WingX 7 Pro -> Cloud Arrow icon The “not on this iPad” list seemed to be the key to seeing the old version. Otherwise, it kept pointing me to V9 in the App Store...

    WingX V9 preview

I didn’t see any hardware requirements before trying to download version 9, but be careful as it’s not compatible with older iPad models and WingX 7 Pro is no longer available in the App Store. I deleted version 7 in the process of trying to upgrade, but fortunately managed to find a way to reinstall.

    Red Dragon Hose

I was up at the airport today and looked at the hose. It's called "Aeroduct" and Wicks carries it (sold by the foot). http://aircraftproducts.wicksaircraft.com/viewitems/aeroduct-hose/aeroduct-ducting Unfortunately there are no part numbers on the hose itself and I can't find the paperwork...

    Red Dragon Hose

I was in the same boat. My Red Dragon ducting starting splitting all over and the wire came through. I picked up a length of new black high temp duct hose in the Aeromart at Oshkosh this past summer and it works great! I only paid like $10 or $20 for it there, but I googled the product number...

Trailer Hitch Lights not working right

Quick update for anybody that’s wondering. Thule turned out to be great and sent me a new harness and two new lights for free under their lifetime warranty. The existing lights now work perfectly with the new harness so, as the POA crowd correctly speculated, there was something awry in the old...

Trailer Hitch Lights not working right

That's what I figure. It's free so why not. Plus, I should be studying right now instead of messing around with this. :)

Trailer Hitch Lights not working right

So Thule randomly got back to me today and offered to send me a new harness and lights under the terms of their lifetime warranty. May be overkill for what sounds likely to be a ground problem, but I'm not going to turn it down. I'm hoping to take my Instrument written this week, so I'm going...
