    Prolonged Shut Down

Thanks Domenick. I believe I do have the MA-4-SPA. Engine was just OH'd last summer and the carb was rebuilt at that time, so I wouldn't expect the seal to be dried out. However, the seal failing in some other fashion is probably work investigating. Something seems to be proving a least a...

    Prolonged Shut Down

Thanks. We did already inspect mixture once and it was hitting full stop in cutoff. Good call on the primer, I hadn't thought about that. Mechanic will be looking at it regardless. I'm just trying to understand potential causes for my own education.

    Prolonged Shut Down

Nope, just a plane jane carbureted O-320. Mixture cutoff was inspected and working properly, yet the problem persists. The high fuel pressure seems more than coincidental, but I don't have enough mechanical experience to make the correlation.

    Prolonged Shut Down

Hey gang - My Cherokee (O320) has been strange to shut down lately. Initial symptom was that it would quit and then hit a blade or two backwards. Had it looked it, everything checked out and it seemed to be OK for a little while. It's acting up again intermittently, now it just coughs and...

Low cost cellular wi-fi for hangar??

It does not list a temperature range, and I do share that concern. For $20, I figured I'd give it a shot. If the cold ultimately takes it down then I'm going to follow your plan with an outdoor router.

Low cost cellular wi-fi for hangar??

That's cool about the library hot spot!! I'll post back here if I have any issues with the signal. The primary use will just be to turn a Wyze switch on/off for the Reiff heater and I have a Wyze cam in there as well that I can check to confirm the heater is on (also have a lamp on the same...

Low cost cellular wi-fi for hangar??

Interesting concept. Curious, do they include service or does the borrower bring their own sim card and data plan? In any event, I found a solution. Got a brand new TMobile hotspot on Amazon for $20 and a $10/mo 2GB prepaid plan (first 2GB are 4G/5G and then unlimited but throttled data...

Low cost cellular wi-fi for hangar??

That thing looks cool! My plan, as of today, is to try a $20 tmobile hotspot from Amazon and a $10/mo 5gb prepaid plan. Fingers crossed.

Low cost cellular wi-fi for hangar??

Disregard update below. Almost certain that any phone/ipad hotspot will time out. That's not going to work. Jetpack may still be the way if they are always on, although I read that a mint mobile plan on a Tmobile device may provide the same. _______ Quick update, interesting new option. I have...

    Cessna 150 fuel stick

FWIW, the 152 FuelHawk stick was spot on for usable fuel in my 150M.

Low cost cellular wi-fi for hangar??

Thanks everyone. Great input here, appreciate all the replies. Switcheon would work great, except that I really want the internet too for the stuff that I use when I'm just hanging out in the hangar. That and a tether to my current phone for temporary hot spot when I'm in the hangar might...

Low cost cellular wi-fi for hangar??

Hey gang - Looking for ideas. I'm currently piggybacking off of a public wi-fi at my airport but I'm some distance from the router. I installed a repeater on the top of my hangar but service is still spotty. Using it primarily to turn a wifi switch on/off for my preheater, and to use an Alexa...

    Removing old King Radio

Yeah, this one didn't want to cooperate but happy to report that it finally worked loose.

    Removing old King Radio

Thanks guys. Saw the cam and the 1/4 turn limitation on the replacement radio, just wanted to make sure that the cam was the only thing that holds it in the tray before I pull a little harder on it.

    Removing old King Radio

Hey gang, I'm trying to do a quick troubleshooting swap with a known good KX170B radio but can't get the installed radio to budge. I thought I just had to loosen the set screw and it would pull out. What am I missing?

    pirep requested - N35 - Punxsutawney, PA.

I have family there and had my plane based at N35 for about a year. It’s a sleepy little airport. 3000 foot runway in good shape, self-serve 100 LL. No FBO, just a lounge with a restroom that’s always open. Plenty of free transient parking on the ramp.

    Beech 35 down

Plane had departed my home field and I flew in the exact same area about 90 minutes prior. Breezy and overcast with heavy scattered snow squalls around.

    Boosting Wi-Fi in Hangar

Any chance you can point me to more specific directions for this setup? I have an extra Pi that I can repurpose. I *thought* I'd made some progress this week with the indoor extender up in the rafters rebroadcasting the wifi to a Wyze outlet to control the heater on/off. But, it only worked...

    Boosting Wi-Fi in Hangar

Yeah, I think that the increase in the bill was only like $7-10 dollars per hangar over the year. But someone made an issue so I'm trying to be a good neighbor. I offered to throw in extra, but the collective consensus was that there was no way of knowing who used how much so we just decided to...
