    Contractors, assemble!

Nope, no cracks that I can see from the bottom...just a few nail pops from the house settling, but nothing that looks out of the ordinary. I'm with you, I hope it's a simple problem, but I also don't want this to be a problem down the road after the warranty runs out, where it becomes MY...

    Contractors, assemble!

Unfortunatley (or fortunately), its a finished basement where my daughter's playroom and my office are located. So, having a look at the TJIs is not that simple.

    Contractors, assemble!

GC has already been called and taken a look. He couldn't offer an opinion while he was here, and said he would look into it and get back to me. It IS separating the whole length, but the separation gets smaller as you go down the length of the crack. I tried pushing it back up against the...

    Contractors, assemble!

Well, not really. However, I am hoping to get an array of opinions and thoughts, because I have thus far been unable to come up with a particular reason/solution that stands out more than the rest. The issue is this: Issue: The kitchen counter-top/cabinets are starting to come off of the wall...

That's the whole point, no? Especially if those buying at $470 are the hedge funds trying to cover their shorts.. As a wise man once said to me, as it relates to stocks...."you never want to be short and uncovered."

    Ok, really...WTF

No idea....I've been locked in the house for the last year. After googling, I guess it would be either 159 or 160, depending on personal preference.

The place I got my ticket from was run more like a mom-n-pop operation....because it was. The owner was also the A&P, and did all his maintenance. He, himself, his wife, and his daughter all worked part-time there as well behind the front desk, and they had a number of hangers at the airport...

You must be confusing SF with LA....I lived in SF, worked in Pleasanton, and flew from KLVK

Truth be told, I didn't ask about equipment. However, in their quoting of prices, they quoted a higher price for a glass panel...So, I assume the cheaper rate is for steam gauges?? But, I could be wrong.

I used to drive about an hour in SF to get to my airport/plane rental....so, driving is certainly an options. If you have suggestions, I'm all ears!

So, maybe this isn't the most appropriate title in a "normal" section of the forum, but I had to ask.... I moved from the SF Bay Area to the North Jersey area about a year ago. When in the SF area, I got my private ticket. The rental plane from the place I used was $117/hr for a C-172, R...

    Home Project Question

I appreciate all the ideas/stories/etc guys....the impetus for all this was the talk with her pediatrician. We were told that at her age, part of her developmental process was to start learning how to climb up and down stairs. We have the baby gates, and aren't worried about her going up/down...

    DIY Question - small project.

No one has suggested heating up the part in question and melting away the "extra" metal? Alternatively, you could take a giant pair of channel locks and squeeze the larger diameter pole to fit the smaller hole. If neither of the aforementioned methods strikes your fancy, then I would agree...

    Home Project Question

Pricing it out at home depot, it would be about $40ish for everything.....I don't plan on putting in gold plated fixtures... But again, it was just an initial thought I had
