    Back Surgery and Resuming Flying

Thanks for your reply. I will be cautiously optimistic that I can fly after 8-10 weeks post surgery.

    Back Surgery and Resuming Flying

Has anyone had lower lumbar fusion surgery on the L5S1? I'm due to undergo this surgery, this is my only bad disc and am expected to make a full recovery. I fly a Piper, which might be a nightmare at first to climb into the cockpit. If you had this procedure, when were you able to start...

Looking to upgrade on a budget

I’m looking at an avionics upgrade on a budget. I have a basic IFR panel in my Cherokee. In short i have a TKM Navcomm with glide slope and VOR locater. Audio panel is a PSE 8000G. Also have a basic king comm radio. Looking to replace the King comm radio, while adding an older Waas capable GPS...

Experimental G5 install in lieu of Certified one

I have the same question, if the unit is no different, it’s a bitter pill to swallow.

Experimental G5 install in lieu of Certified one

I'm just checking to see if its possible to intall the experimental G5 unit in a certified (legacy) plane? I want to install (2) in my plane to eliminate the vacuum system. I'm wondering if I can buy the less expensive experimental units, using the following document...

Future of aircraft pricing, 6months to a year from now.....

I think training airplanes and older “affordable planes” will keep their value. There isn’t an infinite supply of Cherokees, 172’s, etc. There won’t be precipitous drops in price. Gas hogs and twins might sit a while. The above being said, who the heck knows…

Any good landing tips while on final?

Hi, thanks for checking in. My landings are good now, just nailed 5 in a row in 10 knot winds gusting to 20. I finally have consistency, which I was lacking.

Any good landing tips while on final?

good video. This is exactly the visual I needed. I have my speeds and am good with power and pitch— it’s this last little bit — the round out and flare I have issues with. Had a lesson last night and made 5 good landings in a row, on the airports shorter runway.

Any good landing tips while on final?

I'm right at the point of soloing, but am having an issue on final. When I'm about to land I have a tendency to overcorrect and rather than tease the plane down to the ground by holding the nose, I flare a bit too soon. Any good tips on maintaining the right nose attitude so i don't bounce the...

    Avgas Prices

With labor and other shortages at USA refineries, our average shortage, per day of capacity is 1 million barrels. We won’t see normalcy until the refineries get fully operational.

    Cherokee 140 pushing the limits

I believe there is an AOPA safety video about this Houston flight available on YouTube. The pilot was experienced - 3300+ hours and he didn't have enough fuel for sudden weather changes and a missed approach. Very sobering….

    GA sucks, and also doesn't.

…and I thought my weekend was bad when I got home and found out the fries were left at the drive- through window. What an adventure, and ordeal. Thanks for sharing.
