    Cirrus Pilots- Answer me this...

Riding the brakes results in brake overheats. Normal (proper) taxiing does not.

Nice write up, Keith. You clearly have your head in the game. Good job.

    Cirrus Pilots- Answer me this...

Assuming they are teaching the airplane correctly, CFI's shouldn't accept sub-par aircraft handling and performance. I think there are some who may categorize these taxiing habits as "technique" and thus let it slide.

    Hudson River Tour

http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38550 http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58830 Feel free to ask any specific questions I can help answer. In short, I recommend requesting a bravo clearance up and down the river. I find it's just easier that way.

Given instrument instruction without double "I"

That's how I read this situation. The CFI in the right seat is acting as a safety pilot since he/she cannot give instrument instruction toward an instrument rating.

    IFR Knowledge Test Answer Discrepancy

Same here. There is, as I would say to my students for comedic effect, a "little circle thingy" on the approach chart that tells us what the MSA is. It clearly states 3,400 ft for the area in question.

Picking people up for a Hudson coordidor trip

I used to be based there but moved to the west coast last year. Call Panorama and Million Air and see who is cheaper. Honestly I would go to whichever once is the cheapest. Probably Panorama but I'm not sure since it's been a while since I flew in there transient. If you end up going to HPN...

Picking people up for a Hudson coordidor trip

You can also depart FRG southbound and follow the south shore westbound while talking to NY Approach. Descend below the Bravo before each shelf to a final altitude of 500 ft MSL prior to the JFK inner ring and then climb back up once clear of Rockaway beach. When JFK tower hands you off to EWR...

Picking people up for a Hudson coordidor trip

Probably the easiest option is to have your friends take a train to HPN. Panorama can pick your friends up from the train station and bring them back to the FBO. I highly suggest requesting a class Bravo clearance at 1500 or 2000 ft up/down the river. You will be above the exclusion traffic...

Hayward . . . and the Bay Area.

I have a friend who was able to snag a good last minute deal on hotels.com for a nice place in San Fran, but it depends how far out you want to plan your trip. He logged on a day or two before I believe. I've flown into HWD a few times but only day trips, no overnights. Nice airport, only 1...

    Any Purdue Grads out there?

The program is what you make of it. If you are an ambitious student you can use it to really go places. I learned a LOT and it wasn't exactly "vanilla." To each his own.
