    135 Pay Scales

To be quite honest, I don't think one exists for this segment of the industry, besides the fractionals. Sounds like your project is going to involve a lot of research.

Going / Getting to KSDM [Brown - San Diego] from the North . . .

If you're departing SDM IFR, they will assign you the SDM IFR ODP then MZB293/SLI148. Forget the radials, just use PEBLE intersection. Is is listed on the hi altitude chart (and not the low alt) so they can't issue PEBLE int. Also, don't mistake TIJ for SDM. :D

why NoPT on SBD NDB RWY 6?

We elected to leave NDB approaches off of our OpSpecs since we (1) never fly them and (2) then no longer have to demonstrate an NDB approach on our checkrides. That being said, a lot of our planes have an ADF but it is solely used to listen to AM radio. It's a great way to get caught up on...

    Bose A20 versus X

Just went through my first set of earcups on my A20. They started to deteriorate and clearly needed a replacement set but only after a solid 900 hours of use. Not bad.

    Brag about your FBO

Our line guys at Signature in TRM are awesome. They anticipate just about every need we may have and are totally on top of their game. If you ask to have the airplane pulled at 0630 for an 0730 departure, the plane is online at 0625 with a GPU staged and coffee/ice/papers sitting next to the...

    Airline Dispatch Training

Part 135 doesn't require licensed dispatchers, only part 121. You can still get into charter flight following/dispatch without a license.

Not anymore really. He is still around the building but not teaching full time. He filled in for a few hours during my week there.

    Airline Dispatch Training

I did my training and oral/practical at Airline Ground Schools in LUK. It was ok. I won an NBAA dispatch scholarship and used the award there. I fly full time but still keep the dispatch credentials in my back pocket just in case the opportunity presents itself one day...

Went to the Sim Last Week...

+1 The flight data is REALLY expensive. The newer Level D sims certified under the new part 60 requirements are pretty darn realistic.

Went to the Sim Last Week...

Cool stuff, Ted. I have found that the quality of the training is very much program specific (some programs are better than others) and even more so, instructor specific. Once I have a GREAT instructor I make sure I specifically have him/her in the sim during future training events. Most of...

Low time pilot going to KSFO.

SFO is kind of a pain. Especially if one of the 28's is closed and they are landing on a single runway when the weather is IFR. BTDT. If you end up going there, ask for 28R at intersection E for departure. ;)
