Trailer Hitch Lights not working right

on a flat 4, the same wire and same bulb is used for the flashers as the brake. i'm guessing the brake works if the headlights are off? how is this box grounded? i'm guessing "poorly". Run a ground wire to each light assembly instead of counting on a ground through the trailer hitch. Dedicated...

    GPS Loss Theory

were you over or near an interstate highway? I have seen cases of temporary jamming that the best we could tell was from a semi truck driving underneath, jamming his gps tracking device.

Coming to you in 2018 - KSXK

Awesome. We've had two airports recently open here in Kansas and a third is on the way. I did fly into Orange City a year or two ago. It was really convenient for me, I was attending my brothers cross country meet. Landed, tied down, and walked across town to the golf course.

    Winter IFR currency vs icing

Yep @flyingcheesehead still lurking around. That was a fun flight with you and Scudwalker. Slightly above freezing in Ames, forecast right at freezing at destination. Started to get a little Ice 10 miles out so flipped a 180 and went back to the warm air. Always have an out.

    T-Tail Lance winglets and ????

Gliders have winglets because all of the racing classes, except for open, are span limited. Winglets allow a slight increase in efficiency, if properly tuned, without an increase in span. Gliders, at least on XC flights and competition, almost never fly at Max L/D. Winglets on a Lance seems...

    How safe/unsafe is glider flying?

My longest flight in the Cherokee II is currently 242 miles. It was a pretty good day, Guy in a Nimbus III that day went 552 miles! I also did a 300km triangle in the Cherokee II once, on a VERY good soaring day. Probably the best day I've ever flown that glider. The last few years I've been...

    How safe/unsafe is glider flying?

    How safe/unsafe is glider flying?

There would be massive logistical problems not to mention dealing with the harsh environment. But it could be pretty awesome. Similarly I've always wondered about the soaring potential in Alaska, presumably some routes could be worked out that would allow for incredible distance and in the...

Why should I not buy a Cessna 421.??

i've always enjoyed my time in 421's. I probably have 350 hrs between B & C models. I was never paying the bills, I was just flying the plane and writing squawks. I think Fearless and I have discussed here his 421 operation and how it limits their legs. I recall a combination of two pilots...

    Anti-venom flight during 9/11 shutdown

due to the ridiculous month long light airplane shutdown after airliners crashed into buildings, a couple local CFI's came to work at my dad's pizza place, because they still needed to pay their rent and buy beer. As a result of that I decided maybe I should become a pilot. So i guess it wasn't...

    Debate: 182 vs Super Viking

Because the Mooney and 182 are conventional enough and do their job well enough that they don't need airshow routines to sell them?
