    Why I moved away...

A big ol' white, lovable, fluffy comforting blanket. Bring it on.

    Prayers needed

Thank you all so much. Sammy is still with us... Doctors found a way to relieve pressure on the brain and now he's showing some response to pain stimuli and some upper body motion. Don't know much more than that at this point. We're very grateful for the good news, still very worried, and always...

    Flying with e-bikes

Intrigued. Are there any offerings that would fit two in the back if the rear seats of a Cheroke PA28A were removed?

    The Geico Aerial Banner

As an aside, there's an interesting article, at least for folks like me who know very little about banner towing, in this November's AOPA pilot about a banner towing accident.

Sharing Aviation (give me 2 minutes of your time)

I had forgotten about this thread... so much so that I tried to "like" the first post and couldn't when I saw I had already done that back in 2019. Can't bring myself to "like" the update due to the sad news, but you and your fellow pilots in the area help restore faith in humanity and in...

    Double clutching the downshift.

The drag comes from engine braking in a lower gear, not the clutch.

    Help me understand....

In fairness to Mr. McSpadden, the words "disagree" and "upset" where my characterizations of his reactions in the article. He did not use those words. His description was, "We looked at each other with raised eyebrows. The act was so clearly out of place -- and potentially dangerous -- in that...

    Double clutching the downshift.

ROFL... because of the timing of our posts. Always willing to learn. When I downshift (meaning, going from fourth to third preparing to accelerate through a turn, for instance), I always blip the gas to get the engine revs up to an appropriate speed for the new gear before letting the clutch...

    Double clutching the downshift.

Rev match. You'll only wear out your clutch if you're doing it wrong. In over a million miles of driving manual cars, taking four of my cars to well over 200K, I've never had to replace a clutch. Not once.

Thinking about building a hangar home, where to start?

We have four stories in our "ant farm" house. It sure does help keep us in shape... especially when I'm working on something on the fourth floor and the tools I need are in the basement...

    Help me understand....

While enjoying this morning's coffee, I've been perusing the Nov. issue of AOPA Pilot. On page 26, Richard McSpadden has an article entitled "Difficult Conversations," wherein he discusses when and how to initiate conversations with people whom he as observed making bad aeronautical decisions. I...
