We're just starting to build on our lot, and the neighbors couldn't be better. Everyone is supportive and friendly. In addition to an airpark, this is also a lake community, so they randomly meet at the dock for drinks or to watch the stars. Great little community. (MO06).

This is why I always have a little nagging in the back of my mind. Last summer I was flying out West CAVU and hit the worst turbulence I’ve ever felt. It only lasted a fraction of a second, but I hit my head so hard on the canopy that it drew blood where my headset dug in. I can’t even guess...

I can’t seem to find where they claim 15gph. I did see 0.9lb/hp/hr at cruise with 188hp. Which roughly equals 188 x 0.9 / 6lb/gal = or 28gph, which is still pretty good for a turbine.

I agree. I do really wish them the best, and I sure would love to fly a Dark Aero. But I think the incremental insurance cost vs my RV-9A would probably be prohibitive. If it gets anywhere near the numbers they're projecting, I wonder if it will have a future in Reno, like the Lancair Legacy?

It has been fun to watch so far. I’m really interested to see how it progresses. I agree, it looks a lot like a Lancair 320.

Congratulations! I fly an RV-9A that I didn't build. I absolutely love that plane! 155kts at 8.5gph...it's been a great IFR XC machine. I would love to build an RV-10 in retirement. Post your progress here (or YouTube or somewhere)...I'd love to follow it!

Agree with this! It's a good feeling to shrug off a cylinder, too (from experience, plus I measure everything in AMUs). While I hate spending that kind of money unexpectedly, it's nice to know you can if you have to...and at some point in this hobby, you WILL have to.

Seriously look at this. Your mission is the same as mine. Me and my wife, 100lbs of baggage, up to 46gal fuel (although I rarely use the extended tanks), 155KTAS, 8.5gph. We're in the middle of the country, and have flown to both coasts, North, and South. You might want to sit in one to check...
