    CFI - Power Off 180s - Cherokee 140

Power Off 180 you have to hit your spot with 200 feet - I always go for the aiming point markers.

    CFI - Power Off 180s - Cherokee 140

I utilized the slip a lot in the 172 for the Power Off 180. I think I just need to get out there and practice some more in the Cherokee and find the technique like I did in the 172. Probably just going to be a short downwind and tighter pattern + slip.

    CFI - Power Off 180s - Cherokee 140

Starting to fly my Cherokee 140 from the right seat to prepare for the CFI checkride. I did my Commercial in the 172, which glides forever when doing the Power Off 180 - my Cherokee is quite the opposite. My first few times I was way short - I kept the pattern tighter and kept the downwind...

Best 18650 Batteries I've Ever Used

Great to know for flashlights. I don’t use any flashlights for flying at the moment that utilize 18650s. Right now I have a Preon P2 MKIII flashlight that I use for my flight bag (attached to the molle webbing on the outside of my pack). It uses AAA though - I use Eneloope’s in it. Also have a...

Maybe the best combo is fly the airliner for the day job and fly the Extra 300 or Cub on the days off

I gotta imagine the military guys find the civilian flying boring as can be. Which I can totally understand. I imagine the airlines are much more appealing to the civilian. But what do I know

    Ab initio

Yea this is spot on. Someone told me he is in his 40s? Not sure if that is true or BS. I have to admit he looks way younger than that. But yea...I think you hit the nail on the head. I think he has been trying to conjure up a mZeroA type channel/ground school. Not sure how successful it’s been...

I’m not an instructor *yet* (hopefully I will be in the next few months!) so I guess I can’t say. I’m pretty excited though. But yea...I understand what your saying.

    Ab initio

When I read the comments a while back on his “Why I quit the airlines” people really went off on him. Who knows, maybe he can make a good run at instructing though.

I like his videos and I think he has good content, but I’m not sure some of these videos he has recently came out with are going to help his channel much.

    Budget GoPro Cam?

Davinci Resolve is very good. I used DR for a while, but I will say it’s not as user friendly as Premiere Pro if you are completely new to editing. Especially if you have to transcode to another codec. That said, DR is a very powerful editing suite, and the free version is quite impressive.

Yea I mean certainly the best solution is one camera in the cockpit and one for outside the cockpit

    Budget GoPro Cam?

It's similar to what my 6 was. It's hard for me to give you a good assessment as I've never had issues with battery life for two reasons: 1. I rarely record continuously for hours at a time. Most my vacation type videos I record for very short periods of time. Battery lasts all day no problem -...

    Budget GoPro Cam?

I love Premiere Pro..I can understand not wanting to pay for it on a monthly basis, especially if you don't use it often...but for $21 a month its worth it for me.
