Deciding between QT Halo and Clarity Aloft Link

I went through the same back-and-forth regarding the CAs and QTs, thinking that the bluetooth was a huge selling point for the CAs. Until I realized that the Pilot BluLink used in the CAs to provide bluetooth connectivity can be purchased and added to ANY headset...

Saw that (posted within a minute of each other), but didn't think I could delete this thread.

low frequency training, finally finished PPL

Congratulations! May I suggest you test out all of the area restaurants that are at/near airports? That's a good way to keep flying and... you might as well invite along some family and/or friends!

    Accelerated Commercial Rating

There was no reduction in insurance after I got my CPL, but I'm sure that's related to the club insurance and 13 of 15 pilots holding PPLs. For what it's worth, I got my CPL with no intentions of ever using it (just a necessary step to get to CFI), but then the local FBO talked me into getting...

    Accelerated Commercial Rating

I had a great experience with Livingston Aviation at KALO. The commercial training is done in an older (60s era) Arrow, but I felt like I got great instruction and recommend at least contacting them if you're in the market. PM me if you want any more details...

    Instrument check ride passed.

Great point, and many of us could use the review. As you know, there's a lot to remember!

Maybe some of you can use this thing I wrote (Kneeboard generator)

I'll PM you something I started working on a few months back and then set aside.

Make a "book" with folded paper... then, attach the "back cover" of that "book" to your clipboard and you can open/close it with page 1 (the "front cover") containing the kneeboard info and page 2 (the "back cover") as a notes page.

What'd you write it in? I was going to suggest PDF for the printout, but it looks like you're already heading in that direction. Where are you getting the data from? Download of the FAA data or an API source?

That's how I felt, too. As a matter of fact, when I finished the oral I breathed a sigh of relief (as though I was already done). "Oh wait, I still have to do the flying portion!"

    Instrument check ride passed.

Congratulations! I'll bet you find that it makes you a more precise pilot, overall... but it's especially nice to know that there are more days out of the year that you can fly now (not ALL days, mind you... but quite a few more around here, anyway). Who will be your first passenger into the...

    PA-28 235 For sale

I was mostly joking as I'm pretty sure I'm not the guy for that job. No mountain flying experience and likely won't have the flexibility to take time off of work outside of planned vacations between now and the end of the year. But it would be fun to witness you flying in an airplane... as all I...

    PA-28 235 For sale

You're probably going to want to pay a commercial pilot to ferry that for you from Washington to Texas while you sit in the seat next to him and play with all of the airplane's buttons and knobs. You should definitely use someone that you know from an online forum. And maybe even someone who's...

    Anarchist's Cookbook

Wow, I had forgotten about it but... I definitely read it in my youth. I'll take the extra BBS points, too. I'm guessing... 1985ish?... on a 1200baud modem. Not long after that, Dad got a new computer with a 2400 and I (somehow) talked him into spending $250 to upgrade his BRAND NEW computer...
