    Supply Chain Woes....not really.

There's a lot of supply chain issues out there. Lots. I ordered a linear actuator for my flaps in the beginning of July 2021. Initial quote was a November 10 ship date. Yup - 16 weeks. Only to find out on November 9 that my order is now delayed until December 23. And even then, they can't...

Cool places to fly to within 2 hours of LAX

Amboy, California? Catalina Island? Camarillo (good airport cafe?) Montgomery Field (San Diego) and Casa Machado? Harris Ranch (3O8)? Slightly over 2 hours (may be more if windy) is Henderson, NV (KHND) if you want to stop and enjoy the Las Vegas scene.

Good idea to use all your resources (including the ballistic parachute) as needed. Glad that you got out unhurt and have joined us here.

    I need a nut…

Potentially car stereo shops (where they had old two-post radios for volume and tuning) - same sized nut, I believe. Otherwise two thumbs up for McMaster Carr

    How did you find aviation?

When I was a kid (5 or 6 years old), my parents asked me what I wanted to be. I told them, "I want to be a TWA pilot." I was always interested in aviation, and loved collecting the small die-cast airplanes as a kid, and played with them in my bedroom. Time went by, got married, started a...

    Watches In the Cockpit (photos)

I might be the only one to write this, but the LAST watch I'll wear in the cockpit is an Apple Watch. I once was on the take off roll when my mom decided to call me (incessantly - 5 times in a row...which Asian moms tend to do), which required me to take my hand off the throttle to slap the...

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

This in addition to other reports that the crew were using these "props" (really firearms) for target practice/shooting ("recreational purposes") after is pretty alarming. I would imagine the armorer should have kept any firearm in control and in her custody or supervision at all times. How it...

    Most Reliable/Longlived/Proven LSA Airplane?

Many LSA will land on grass strips without issue, especially if you remove the wheel pants. (A lot of LSA fly around Florida and land on grass strips all the time.) I think most LSAs would be able to accommodate your mission.

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

In my mind, there's a question as to why there were live rounds on a set anyway? I don't think there's a need for live rounds on a set. But even if there were, and if I were the armorer, there is NO WAY I would leave a weapon loaded with live rounds and unguarded on a table. I'm not casting...

    Most Reliable/Longlived/Proven LSA Airplane?

i too own a Sportcruiser and really endorse it. Incredible plane to fly, but the factory is a PITA so going experimental allowed me to cut ties and modernize the avionics in my bird. CTsw or CTLS are well established and proven reliable high wing LSA. i like them quite a bit too. For landing...

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

i taught my son gun safety when he was eight years old. As a result of this incident and this thread on POA, I asked my son (now 15) what he would do if someone handed him a firearm. His response was instinctive: "Treat every firearm as if it was loaded, keep my finger off the trigger, never...

    Ordered new Tecnam P2010

Banning funnels a lot of air through that pass and the turbulence can be... pretty rough. Looks like JEB's route would work, and there's a nice cafe at KHMT (and some older warbirds at the tie-downs) to take a break if the air is rough. Looking forward to seeing your new bird at KFUL!

    Fraud Protection services

Ditto @ElPaso Pilot I froze all my credit reports after my information was leaked. I don't apply for new credit cards (not in a long time, anyway) and if I do need to unlock my credit, I always inquire which bureau they intend to use and will unlock it for a short period of time. (Usually 24...

    Big people and LSA

Congratulations on the Bristell @BlueDream! They are fantastic aircraft. Milan Bristell really did a masterful job with re-imagining the SportCruiser/Piper Sport and making it faster, lighter, and wider while also adding steerable nose wheel with a shock and spring system (very different than...

What's your go-to Concealed Carry weapon?

As others have stated, a gun (or knife, baseball bat, hammer, etc.) is just a tool. YOU are the weapon. Train well and be proficient in all tools (including decision making, de-escalation, situational awareness, and of course, use of tools available to you.) Having said that, choice of tool...

What's your go-to Concealed Carry weapon?
