Where are the lines on charts?

If I zoom in on ForeFlight on the sectional, the line measures about 1500ft. But if I zoom in on the aeronautical map, the line just keeps getting smaller. So go back to basic geometry definitions of a line that says (paraphrasing) a line has no width. That answer your question?

Where are the lines on charts?

You’re overthinking it. Stay away unless cleared into it by whatever the rules are for that space. If you’re counting on the thickness of the line to keep you legal you’re too close.

    Rentals in Texas

Tidal Aviation rents a sizable number of SR-20’s and -22’s out of KTME in Houston, not sure if they have a Dallas based fleet or not, but they’re not cheap, maybe $400-450/hr after you fuel. Run some numbers and you’ll see why it’s hard to find what you’re looking for. Look for flying clubs...

    Statin?

Read up on them, google away. Lots of studies showing they can’t show any significant decrease in heart disease by putting someone on statins. You may like your Dr and want to keep him, but you owe it to yourself to get a second opinion and some more homework before taking them.

    GTN 650, CDI, and Direct-To

sounds to me like you’re doing it right. Either there’s a problem with your CDI or you’re misinterpreting what it’s saying (most likely solution). Try posting some pics of what you’re experiencing next time you’re up showing the flight plan, default nav and your CDI.

    Restarting The Search

Glad y’all are continuing to heal, enjoyed our talk. Searching is sometimes more fun than catching so take your time and have fun with it. I too am looking and taking my own advice. I had no physical healing and was back in the air within weeks to complete the IR and now have another 40hrs, 10+...

Best portable fan or blower for garage?

In addition, you might try sealing off (caulk or foam) each outlet, switch box and junction box and don’t forget under the bottom edge of the drywall by the floor. Think hermetically sealed. Then paint the walls with a semi- or gloss enamel. Your clothes are bringing a fair amount of stink into...

Crash of a...ah...airplane(?) at Willow Run

The website reads heavily like a car guy that decided to put wings on a new version, as opposed to a rocket scientist that decided to add wheels and a steering wheel to one of his designs. Hope the pilot recovers, doesn’t deserve to die for his errors.

CMEL - 80% loss of performance when losing an engine

Not a twin driver, but I thought proper technique with an engine out was a slight coordinated bank into the good engine? And while there is still some drag, the failed prop is feathered, not windmilling, isn’t it?

    Rent or Own before IFR?

Your question was what’s more cost effective, not what’s preferable. Renting is generally preferable cost wise, long term unless you’re flying lots of hours, mainly because of the risk of the unexpected repair. But owning is preferable for lots of reasons besides cost.

Blackbird: Legacy of Innovation PBS Documentary

Damn, PBS not a friendly app, even switched my station to the one for your area, couldn’t find it so I guess they don’t let you view past programs and/or apparently it’s not set to replay soon. I love the Blackbird as do countless others. Just an amazing program from so many aspects.

Failed nose gear emergency landing at KPWK

All that’s required is to pull the levers all the way back, nothing more. If it works, great, if it doesn’t, fine, I agree, let the insurance company fix it. It’d be worth a shot if you had things under control. I consider that good judgement. And the benefit, again from the luxury of my...

Failed nose gear emergency landing at KPWK

Easy to armchair pilot, but over the threshold I would have made an attempt to kill the mixture and (2 bladed) prop and see if I couldn’t prevent the prop strike(s)
