Attempted Atlanta to Los Angeles, but the Yankee only made it to Phoenix

Might want to check your compass there. Or I need to make sure my map is updated since they moved Goodyear.

    poor mans GPU

There's a guy on COPA that makes exactly this, think I paid about $150, brand new, including the cable and connector, good looking unit, plug and play. Makes several capacities to choose from.

Memorial Day weekend. The flag is up.

Mine's up 24/7/365, properly lit at night. Wall mount with no way to do half mast. Appropriate days bring out the mini-flags in the front yard. Socially distanced 6' apart.

    Pakistan International Airlines crash

Best guess is a go-around resulting in a brief gear-up, engines damaged and then failed before he could make it back.

Cirrus fatal crash - Orcutt school Santa Maria, CA

I don't believe there is anything that makes a Cirrus any more sensitive to speeds than any other typical GA single. They are a bit higher, but no more sensitive. Actually pretty docile in a stall. Sad deal.

Garmin 430 need a new screen

Armor All Cleaning wipes. Scrub diligently for about 10-15mins. Looks brand new. Also you might check the contrast setting, mines doing something weird and it looks totally washed out, even yellow, but if I set the contrast manually it looks perfect. May mean something is on its way out but for...

Insurance covered the stated amount. We're "discussing" the balance of the remaining value with the shop currently. I'll try to remember to post an update when a judgment is made, probably this year.

    Your fat removal services...

you got your operands backwards. Calories out < calories in, gain weight. Calories out > calories in, lose weight. And while it may be more complex than that I think it largely effective - ever see pics of Bataan participants or Nazi prisoners? Never saw a skinny one that still had love...

    Long XC time vs fuel

My understanding is once you are underway, there is no “legal” fuel reserve. So push it however far you want to. For myself and most replies, thinking you’ll have 45min when you land isn’t enough.

Hypothetically speaking, how long until . . .

Correct, 5 mins flight time. I did a slightly longer and more thorough run up since it was first flight post-maintenance. All looked good, The failure happened quickly. I was at low power (from memory 12-15” MAP) heard the engine start to get loud, looked at the gauges, next thing I knew (maybe...

Looking for an A&P to provide assistance in an engine related lawsuit

Ever heard of those stories where a doctor leaves a sponge in the patient during minor surgery, and the patient dies? Kinda like that. Luckily the patient’s owner survived but he’s more than a little ****ed at the careless doctor.

Looking for an A&P to provide assistance in an engine related lawsuit

Back to basics: thrust = drag

Not correct. If lift is greater than weight, the plane will accelerate vertically. The simple formula is F=ma, F is the NET of all forces acting on an object. If there is no net force, there is no acceleration (whether positive or negative) which is a change in velocity. Even at Mach 3 cruise...
