Desperately seeking hangar space KERV or T82

Life isn't fair, get over it. And if you'll take off your judgemental hat for a second, you might consider a post like this might, just might, uncover a hangar occupant that is on a foreign or out of town assignment, between planes, down for extended maintenance, repairs, updates, etc, lots...

Desperately seeking hangar space KERV or T82

Anyone know of someone willing to sub-lease, give up or about to vacate their hangar space at either Fredericksburg T82 or Kerrville KERV airports? Already on their waiting lists which apparently move at glacial speed.

V-Tail Bonanza Hits Truck Near Pumpkin Center Lousiana

The crew gets kudos for no injuries to anyone. From BeechTalk: We put the K35 down after losing all oil pressure. Smoke in the cockpit was first indication. We were at 2,000 descending to pattern altitude from 7,500 after passing Baton Rouge. Looking for a field on the south side of 12...

    Flagstaff - KFLG?

Been there several times, beautiful place. Wiseman is it, very nice folks, can't offer too much more help, you might try the FBO Group with Enterprise for a rental as Uber might take a while. This time of year high DA won't be a big problem, but your still pretty high so be mindful of it. Also...

    Degreaser for bottom of airplane?

Just did mine today with GoJo, piece of cake, need at least 2 of the small containers though. Much easier than mineral spirits that I used last time. Next step - polish and wax the underside.

So what's the go-to headset these days?

you can actually get them, for one. I feel like the audio is slightly better as well but maybe my Halos were just having difficulties after nearly 10yrs.

    Terrafugia

Read the article, they plan to capture 5% of the market in the US, which seems reasonable until you read further and he says the US market is 40,000, so his target is 2000. The problem is the ENTIRE US market (all pistons, turboprops and light business jets) is <2500. I see a disconnect. Not...

Is it safe to do a full throttle static run-up with cowling removed?

Nobody has mentioned that running with the cowl off beats the hell out of the baffles, wouldn't expect a few short runs would cause problems but don't make a habit of it, eventually you'll start getting little cracks at the attach points.

Tragic Utah Crash Involving a “1966 Cessna Piper 28-21490”

Someone on BeechTalk overlaid the FlightAware track on Google earth. Makes it pretty clear what (with 99% likelihood) happened and that's CFIT. May or may not have been fully dark but it was close. Horrible that a woman lost her mom and child in an instant.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot "porn 'stache" goin on? Is that some kind of tradition while training or something ?

    America’s aircraft engines

The 500hrs SMOH IO-520 in my Bo was rebuilt by them, seemed to run just fine mechanically for the 150hrs I flew it. Well, that is, until a mechanic left a blue paper rag in the crankcase causing oil starvation and a surprise destination in a housing development. Had good compressions, good...

Why are these planes still using toxic fuel?

We're on the same side here, but you might want to check your math . . . . In addition (pardon the pun) I saw one post on BeechTalk stating that breathing difficulty is not a symptom of lead poisoning. So there's that.

Route tips from Houston to North Florida along the Gulf Coast

Nobody has mentioned the WWII Museum in NOLA. I've yet to go but it is a bucket list item, and then there's the food there (in NOLA), Commanders, ACME, Cafe du Monde, all touristy but still good. It's a must stop, would suggest a couple of days at least. and a good distance for one from Houston...

Route from Lake Havasu to Western Texas

Learn to read an IFR chart, published routes typically follow the lowest terrain. Dont know where in western Texas you're going but the southern route is a bit lower, just leave Sedona, head south through Phoenix (stay well west of the Phoenix metro if you don't want brave the Bravo) then...
