Possibly reported for VFR on Top

Nobody has mentioned that the OP broke a reg by his own admission by “finding a hole” in a broken layer. No need to estimate distances for cloud clearances. Broken is a ceiling. Edited, my bad.(leaving quietly through the back door).

HVAC guys... not an electrical problem. Maybe not a problem.

I’m in Texas. You’re referring to the emergency drain, which must not only go outside, it must exit in front of a window so you see it dripping. Pretty certain (last code I worked with was 2012) the primary drain is required to drain into a sink or other drain line.

HVAC guys... not an electrical problem. Maybe not a problem.

Plumbed right, you shouldn’t see any drainage, it should be tapped into a sink drain somewhere. Only if that’s clogged should you see water dripping from the emergency drain. I second Matthew above, if a contractor is “old school” bigger is better right? Happens a lot. In theory, on the hottest...

Which one of you shot off a large rocket today (5/19/22) near Houston?

It’s really not that hard, I’m able to see in 3 dimensions, it’s magical. If you saw smoke rising from a small fire, you could follow the smoke down to the fire, and approximate where it originated. Again, the photos don’t show the full extent of what I initially saw.

Which one of you shot off a large rocket today (5/19/22) near Houston?

It was a rocket plume, I have no doubt. You can disagree and vote however you want, but it wasn’t a contrail. I could see the trail down to maybe 1-2k ft above the surface. The pictures just don’t do it justice. And certainly there should have been a notam but ATC couldn’t find one.

Which one of you shot off a large rocket today (5/19/22) near Houston?

Not a contrail, the smoke was near vertical, the picture doesn’t show it well, it traced back down to the ground somewhere just east of the Lake Conroe dam.

Which one of you shot off a large rocket today (5/19/22) near Houston?

Flying across the north part of Houston today and saw this. I don’t see how it could be anything but a rocket. (The bright spot is the sun not the rocket’s red glare). This was just before 4:30 today, I was going east to west right about the southern portion of Lake Conroe, the smoke trail...

    Boston to Austin

They were gone, then came back. Then gone again. Now it’s back but different theme, haven’t tried it but heard it’s adequate. Conroe CXO has a Black Walnut, chain but good. LBX has a decent place on field, been a while since there, heard a few months ago quality was sagging.

    Owning and Flying Over TBO

All you guys bragging about how far over TBO you are, you’re in grave danger - of karma biting you in the ass. The Cirrus that just landed in the SC lake wrote in his ad on Controller “I’ve owned this plane for 18yrs and it’s never let me down yet”. He was at 2400+ Hobbs (so maybe 2000 tach)...

    Microsoft updates

Wow, thought it was just unlucky me. Outlook told me how wonderful it’s new look was in the morning and by later afternoon I couldn’t send emails. My private tech support heard the symptoms and said “oh boy, you can really mess something up if you’re not careful with those”. He never called back...

My new airplane has a weird propeller. What's the deal?

Not just any Scimitar, if I recall that is a special version for Comanches (pictured vs the stated 182 RG) and those paddles supposedly increase ram air pressure ahead of the air intake, boosting power slightly.

Desperately seeking hangar space KERV or T82

Thanks for the reminders guys that the squeaky wheel method works (been doing that somewhat, will turn up the volume though) and that eyeball to eyeball is still one of the best forms of communications. I'll see what I can turn up.
