    Van’s Aircraft Facing Challenges

Sure, I guess my point is that if you want to avoid a certain conglomerate it isn’t always particularly easy to do. Take sunglasses/glasses for example and look at Luxxotica. The second part of your post isn’t quite a good comparison IMO, while the Patriots and Steelers are both part of the...

Fair; 5 supermassive beer conglomerates and whatever local breweries have on offering.

    Van’s Aircraft Facing Challenges

Yes, you get to choose between 5 brands of beer.

    Van’s Aircraft Facing Challenges

I think that was a demonstration of the power of not knowing their demographic. The people who they were pandering to don’t drink Bud Light. People who sit in their trucks and make angry videos do. There is no overlap between the two groups.

    Van’s Aircraft Facing Challenges

Well it certainly makes it easy to identify people whose choice aroma is their own flatulence.

    Ammo shortages

Yep. We were somewhere around $10/box for 9mm. Now it’s $19/box.

    Van’s Aircraft Facing Challenges

Or perhaps the point is to illustrate the “free market” concept is simply a general falsehood.

    Van’s Aircraft Facing Challenges

Ah yes, market competition. What a fine concept.

    Van’s Aircraft Facing Challenges

The secret is companies are just charging more money because they can and then blaming it on inflation.

    Thunderbirds Wake

Hard to believe anything can be that scary in something with a yeet seat. We had a company plane get turned upside-down from wake turbulence at about 3000’, courtesy of a bad vector under a 747. The pilot “completed the roll” to recover.

    Ammo shortages

The P226 X-FIVE Legion just came out a couple weeks ago. I got to shoot it, it was a fantastic pistol. Buyer beware though, I’ve had several QC issues with Sig guns in the last couple years. The Barrel bolts on my MPX snapped when I tried to torque them to book spec after disassembly and...

    Ammo shortages

The 2011 style pistols are very competitive and very nice. A couple of the guys I shoot USPSA with have them, and they love them.

JetBlue tilts backward during deboarding in NY

Nice to see alumnus of the Cessna 207 moving on to bigger and better things.

    Jet Transport for Stroke Patient

In that case I am very surprised how inexpensive it is. IIRC the billing rate when I was doing medevac full-time was $100 per patient statute mile flown.

    Jet Transport for Stroke Patient

That’s a very reasonable price for the ask imo. Most light jets are going to be in the $3800-$5k/hr range.

    Ammo shortages

Yep. I prefer the PMC X-Tac 55gr which normally is about $550/1000rds. The Wolf Gold is fine in a pinch too and thats usually $530. I try to buy by the case, seems to save right about 10% over buying boxes individually. My guns REALLY seem to like the X-Tac 62gr green tip but I shoot a lot of...

    Ammo shortages

I buy about 1000rds of 5.56 and 1000rds of 9mm every 3-4 months, because that’s about how much I shoot. Rarely do I keep more than whatever is in my case + a couple hundred rounds on hand. I went to the ammo store a few days ago and the only cases of 5.56 they had were S&B 77gr, $950/case. Ouch...

    Horizon Jumpseater goes crazy

Yep, if they think you are doing it they can test for it.

    Horizon Jumpseater goes crazy

That’s more or less how most pilots view the current system, whether its correct or not.

    Horizon Jumpseater goes crazy

Why would you decide to take mushrooms right before you commute to work? WTF?
